Really Lauren?

So you decide to do the right thing by going to the police station and telling the truth

BUT

you REALLY think it was a good idea to tell everything to the copper whose FIANCE your dad basically stole???

Did you really think Emmas ex fiancé was going to believe a single word that you told him?

He HATES Max and is probably glad to see him in prison!!

Geez woman, use the brain you were born with!!

I'm guessing if he did believe her, he'd probably have kept it to himself. But if he didn't believe her, then what was the point for him of writing a statement from her?

Great scene. Max's sleazy antics have really come back to bite. No, I'm not saying he deserves to be banged up for a murder he didn't do, but his general demeanour, attitude to people and alley cat behaviour has caught up with him. Nobody really gives a toss about him.

Personality transplant as required when a storyline or scene needs moved along. It's an infuriatingly common writing tool by soap writers.

The next logical step will be for her to talk to Marcus Christie - remember him Lauren? .. The lawyer who actually believes your Dad is innocent and is launching an appeal. But no that would be too simple for EE

Agreed, but she'll simply go swanning off back to New Zealand with the ticket provided by Phil & Abi.

Exactly. She should speak to his lawyer or a different lawyer and a different policeman.

Yes, I'm sure that anyone in that desperate position would have tried every avenue, every option.

Exactly. Going to the press as well might've forced the police to investigate Bobby.

Amazing how her new born baby miraculously has a passport just like baby Matthew had one!

That wasn't really Lauren's fault. She wanted to talk to Keeble but DS Bryant happened to be passing and said he would deal with it. I agree though that she could have rung Marcus Christie and told him what had happened. Also, Sharon could have told the police that Phil bribed the jury for a guilty verdict. Of course the reason that the characters don't do things is because they wanted to accomodate Jakes leave.

If she was too stupid to realise initially Bryant outright stated his motive for revenge. Don't think we have seen the last of him somehow...

Even with a successful appeal, he would still have had the 12-month sentence for escaping lawful detention which will cover that (and as would be commonplace, he would only serve 6 months assuming good behaviour).

I guess they just want to keep the storyline going then. As DTC said it would be boring to have this massive storyline one minute and Ian and Jane choosing curtains the next.

What annoyed me even more is how she conveniently forgot about part of Emma's case file which identifies the scene of crime. She hid it somewhere.

The whole of Lauren's comeback so far has been ridiculous. Surely she would have been strongly advised against making such a long flight whilst so heavily pregnant - some airlines would probably have refused to take her so close to giving birth, and she would have contacted Walford police via a telephone or email as soon as she heard that her father had been charged for a crime he didn't commit. Instead we've had this tedious I'm telling/I'm not telling scenario to put up with.

The fact that Lauren made such a long flight while heavily pregnant imo shows the strength of her affection for her dad but I agree that she could have contacted the Walford police via email or telephone. After all Jane said Tanya always rang her to ask after Max.

That does'nt excuse the plain stupid notion that Peter would not be there with her and miss the birth of his own baby. Her return, has been frankly pathetic.

I did wonder about how she got on the plane while pregnant. Maybe she hid the bump so no one knew. In any case I'm not really sure why jacs come back for them few eps. Look forward to full return in the new year.

And a birth certificate, which you need for a passport!

I agree.
The whole thing has been ludicrous and very annoying.

sorry but she knows the history between him and her father, she knows that Emma was with him before her father

she should have insisted on speaking to Keeble and only Keeble

I suppose she trusted him because he's a police officer and has to do his job but yes it would have been wiser to have insisted on speaking to Keeble, though I guess she didn't really think of that and as police officers are authority figures, it's difficult to stand up to them.

Yep, was stupid speaking to Bryant, didn't think to try Marcus Christie, didn't go to the press and is going to hop on a plane back to Peter. Why didn't she go into the square and tell EVERYONE that her dad was telling the truth about bobby? Why didn't she tell then she found Emma's case file? That she confronted Jane earlier in the year? That sharon and Phil knew and that Phil had bribed the jury? some people might not believe her but others would and that would then get the ball rolling for people to question Ian and Jane and ultimately the truth would come out. But no, try and tell just one copper who throws it back in your face and then just give up. Pathetic writing from ee
