If you are attempting to belittle him it would perhaps help if you actually had some true facts about him.

For a start he wasn't on ITV3, it was actually ITV2 and he hasn't even been on there for almost 2 years now.

Also, he has been on a few ITV1 programmes. He was a team captain with Jason Mansford on a show called 'Odd one in' which was aired on Saturday nights. He was a guest judge on another Saturday night programme called 'Your face sounds familiar'.
He was a guest presenter on a programme called 'Sunday Scoop'. He has done 2 series of 60 minute makeover.

And more recently he was one of the presenters on the RSPCA programme Give a pet a home, which was on every week for a few weeks.

So I'm pretty sure people who watch the mainstream channels are well aware of who he is.
I love his 60 minute makeover, love his humour, He was also on Through the Kehole last night and ITV1 have him lined up to present a rival motoring show to Top Gear. Oh and he does the occasional segment on This Morning

I thought I was the only one who notice this! Peter Andre is definitely getting preferential treatment and I dislike the fact that he is being made out to be the star of the show already - the Strictly producers must love those Iceland prawn rings!

I'm far more impressed by the likes of Anita and Ainsley who have thrown themselves into the show and are producing stunning and surprising dances than the likes of Peter!
I like all three of those contestants. They were all pretty good for the second week of the series, and all were highly entertaining.

Name me one other celeb who has had the longest career and is instantly recognisable on this year's Strictly?

Daniel O'Donnell?
He's had a very long career, has sold millions of albums and managed to do it without marrying a potty mouthed glamour model.

BTW do we know how the order is decided? Maybe they draw a number from a hat.

Isn't it common sense that the producers hand out the pimp slot to the couple most likely to perform an entertaining, highly scored dance to end the show on a high note? Inevitably that means the better dancers get more pimp slots than the duffers. In the early stages of the show, it also means they play safe with consistent, experienced performers used to performing live who are less likely to be let down with nerves. Andre falls into these categories at this stage and so it suits them in promoting the show to have him go last. It doest follow that he is getting preferential treatment for any other purpose than their ratings and I can't see why anyone would think it logical for the Beeb to have any particular wish for him to win more than anyone else. In fact, precisely the opposite since ultimately he is an 'ITV product'. It would make far more sense to set him up for a colossal fall!

Very odd that he gets the best slots.

After only two dances?
I don't think it's fair on the other contestants that he's made out to be the star on the show on both SCD and ITT. He's a good dancer, but there are others who are just as good, in my opinion.

His music career began in 1995 and ended in 1997. He's been a professional famewh*re since the jungle in 2004 making money by hawking his marriages and kids in magazines and reality shows. He's certainly not recognisable for any music made in the last decade or for presenting any hit TV shows.

Totally understand this reasoning! Pete can only be described as 'tabloid famous' these days. Even if he is a guest on a chat show, the reason tends to be plugging his reality shows or just popping by for a chinwag.

I really like Peter and think he is doing great but I dont feel his celeb status is larger or more superior than the other contestants.

My theory: It was part of the deal when he agreed to do the show. Note that he's also last in the opening credits.

I remember when he stood in for Paul O’Grady on one of his afternoon TV shows. Even with a strong guest like Julian Clary, it was one of the worst 45 minutes of television I've experienced.

Agreed. Yes he can move, but imo it all looks like Peter doing Michael Jackson doing the cha cha cha, quickstep, etc. I much preferred Jay's waltz last night.

Yes, I'm sure they are aware he's a Z list celebrity that the BBC are bizarrely trying to make us believe is a major star. Daniel O'Donnell at the height of his fame blitzes Andre in the career stakes
