Every year we get at least one of the Celebs getting called Ringers on the Show by people and this year it appears to be Helen. IMO it is totally pathetic and people acting like Sheep making accusations without anything to support their claim make is pathetic beyond words.

People are entitled to write whatever they want...I really don't understand why you're acting so aggressively towards people who have an opinion that differs from yours.

Havent you read the ones about Jay. Theres a few this year who have obviously had some sort of training but who cares I like to see good dancing. If it annoyed me I wouldn't bother watching.

There weren't many about Jay in the thread about tonight's show. Last week, the "ringer" comments were being distributed a lot more evenly. But tonight there was an outbreak of "ringer" comments about Helen in particular, with few about anyone else. Why? Has she had more training than all of the others? It doesn't seem so, so what's the reason?

It doesn't help that the VT's and the judges are referring to her ballet experience. Unfortunately, the viewing public assume that being capable in/having had experience in one form of dance automatically means that the celeb in question has an advantage in Strictly. This is despite the fact that it should be very obvious this is not necessarily the case just from observing Strictly. How many celebs are there who are good at ballroom/latin but hopeless at the other.

The ringer comments are always dull and unimaginative , only topped by the whining of those who's favourite turns out to be someone that most others just can't take to.
Why posters can't accept they are liking someone who's a bit crap I cannot understand.
But bore us all they must.

I just cant warm up to her...I dont know what it is....First Aljaz's partner that I am completely indifferent about...She is good, no doubts about that but imo the judges overpraise her a bit too much.

Her hips were stiff though....in that chacha.

What rambling piffle, how on earth do you have the slightest clue what the viewing public are assuming from a few vague comments
Just don't be so silly.

Well, I'd imagine a few were made in jest after the Daily Mail did an exposé on her.

Most of them are ringers this year, so just shut up and enjoy the show.

Well, I do talk to quite a lot of people who vote and there are quite a lot of people on this messageboard who vote and who spout plenty of rambling piffle about who they think is a ringer and why.

rambling piffle was quite imaginative. Shame you couldn't keep it up when you came to the being silly part.

I think you are trying too hard to find something to be outraged about. She doesn't seem to have received any more or less criticism than most of this year's women, but if you need something to get your knickers in a twist about, I suppose this will have to do.

Same every year, nearly always because they've done ballet lessons as well. This year though poor Jay has been getting in the neck, especially from one particular poster. Pathetic really because they're not breaking any rules, not keeping anything hidden. It's all out there online if anyone cares to read it. Sad thing is that they're the ones who make the show watchable !!

You don't talk to anything near enough to be a representative sample.
More silliness.

You are the one who is being silly. As soon as Len mentioned "I bet you did a lot of ballet when you were young" tonight it was patently obvious that people would be talking about Helen as a 'ringer' on here tonight. The same is true of last week's VT when they showed Aljaz having to correct her feet positions in the waltz because they were balletic. If you couldn't work that out for yourself without undertaking a scientific study then you obviously haven't been watching Strictly for very long.

She really isn't a ringer. Witness that stiffness and ultra straight leg in the Cha cha. Too many ballet lessons, which did not help with that dance.

Nothing is patently obvious as you suggest, you have let your imagination get in the way of reality, perhaps taking a fun TV show about dancing a bit too seriously.
Some of the people on here are really over invested.
Get a cat.

That's very harsh. You only have to watch SYTYCD to see that dancers have problems adapting to other styles.

I agree. 'Ringers' have been in Strictly for years and, if you don't like them then don't bother watching.

It would be pretty boring if they were all stumbling around the dance floor for the first few weeks. The ones I don't like are the ones who have had previous experience and try and keep it quiet.

It's easier to say who is NOT a ringer this year.

Carol, Jeremy, Ainsley and Iwan have not danced before, as far as I know. Even Daniel did Irish dancing and learns routines for his shows. That means 10 out of the 15 celebs have some dance experience. None have Ballroom, but you can't completely disregard their experience.

Why are we only ever concerned with someones dancing background? Having watched this show from day one I can honestly say that in my opinion the best dancer has not always won. Winning this show takes more than being able to dance.
