How did Carol get on this evening?
Rosegrower
03-10-2015
We are at the Chelttenham Lierature Festival and have only just got back to our b & b. Can someone tell me how Carol got on? I thought she was way out of her comfort zone last week, and she is such a lovely person I would like her to do well.

She's a duffer.

She danced rather sweetly although not that well.

She improved a lot on last week though. I was pleased.

She took the crit graciously and was lovely as usual.

She did better than last week - scored 20 and placed joint second last on the leaderboard with Jeremy (Iwan is last). I think she'll be safe though, as she has a lot of support and there is a two way tie of Anthony and Kirsty directly above her.

Thank you. What was her score this week?

she presented a warm front and raised the temperature a bit

She was much better than last week and you could tell she was much more comfortable in hold. A lovely, if unfortunately, rather forgettable performance (though there were a few for me tonight - Georgia, Anthony among others).

Her massive support should she her last another week.

She had a difficult ballroom dance Rosegrower. It's not easy to make a foxtrot look good if you're a beginner. I think she danced ok given her level of experience.

So kind of everyone to take the trouble to reply. Much appreciated.

Better than last week but still poor, the ridiculous umbrella prop didn't help.

My pleasure.

Like you, I'm a Carol supporter and really want her to enjoy the experience and do as well as she can.

She did loads better than last week, was in hold almost all the time but remembered what she was doing and looked very elegant.

She's nothing like as stiff as Judy Murray, but takes everything in the same spirit that Judy did, so I can see her staying on for a few weeks, especially dancing with Pasha.

Delighted to say that was a big improvement from Carol compared to last week . Really enjoyed their foxtrot .
What name??
04-10-2015
She tried very hard and Pasha understood that she needs reassurance and I think she will enjoy the experience for what it is.

She was better than last week, but that's not saying much. She'll be safe from the dance off for a few weeks though.

Is she going to have a weather theme to her dances every week? Because it's going to become annoying very quickly if she does.

Yep, much better than last week but ballroom is much easier to pass off than latin if you can't dance.

Just wish she didn't have to be interviewed so I could be spared the highly exaggerated manner of her voice.

Ah I like her. I have no previous knowledge of her but it's lovely to see her enjoying herself. The only negative thing I can say, is, at times she reminds me (Physically) of a bigger but undoubtedly better looking version of Katie Hopkins.

No offence meant to her or her fans. apologies in advance.

could she become the first television weather presenter troll? e.g.:
"There will be thunder and lightning in Aberystwyth. Too bad not in Essex where they deserve it.
Rain in Aberdeen, serves you right for not moving. Are your children still ginger?"

She used a prop for her whole dance to help with her frame, so in other words cheated but no one mentions it

I don't think the prop would have helped at all. Got in the way, more likely. It's quite an effort to hold a frame if you're not used to it, without the complication of an umbrella.

I think Carol is just what you would expect for someone of her experience, and I feel some of the comments are very ungenerous. I think people are so used to seeing celebs who have done some previous dancing, they underestimate the difficulty of learning to dance and being able to perform a routine in a short timeframe.

I think she did OK. To put her Cha Cha into context non of the celebs with dance experience who Cha cha'd this week knocked it out the park either. She's not grand but is starting from scratch in terms of dancing.

She's just there....doesn't add a lot of personality.

I noticed that, with Pasha holding the umbrella throughout most of the dance, Carol was holding his wrist rather than his hand, But I am so ignorant about dancing I couldn't tell if that gave her an advantage or not.
