All of us who want & appreciate the Spoiler thread will do our very best to alert the mods to any spoilers inadvertently posted in other threads.
However, this information is out there whether a Spoiler thread is run or not. Without a specific Spoiler thread there is just anarchy with people unthinkingly posting the result, or even worse just for spite. How can you or anyone else guard against that on a public forum? At least the current system, with kind people who have tickets texting Abigailesmum, the result keeps everything in an avoidable thread. Plus it allows discussion of the result before the Sunday show. I agree. Spoiler thread or not, it's going to get out there. At least this way there's some order otherwise it's just open for anyone to post it anywhere |

This may be very unpopular but I think the spoiler thread shouldn't be allowed to be honest.
If all the news papers and twitter get the spoiler from here and also people post it on other threads and ruin it for those who do not wish to know, it just doesn't seem right. Also they do ask you when you go not to reveal the result, so it is asking people to break this agreement which is part of having the privilege of going to see it live. I know it will not be popular with those who love to guess the time but to me it doesn't seem fair, but there you go.Simply let people who like it , enjoy it in peace. |

I do not read the spoiler thread, today it was revealed in the thread about James Jordan, I avoid the spoiler thread.
Again, I did not read the spoiler thread, it doesn't mean I do not wish to read any other threads on the dances, especially to see from fellow dancers/ex dancers what they thought on them too. It is a shame to have to avoid every single thread for the sake of one. I have plenty to do, but sk etimes like to see others opinions too. Anyway, it js just my opinion on the matter, it is a shame to spoil it for those who do not wish to know, but there you go, it is what it is. Yet you wish to spoil it for those who do want to know the spoiler results by saying the spoiler thread is wrong and should be done away with

RIGHT, lets get this back on track.
Given the incorrect B2 spouted all over twitter, even though the eliminated couple was right, PLEASE would someone be our mole this week. Enough of the debating the rights & wrongs of spoilers - If you want to do that, please start a separate thread. Many thanks xxx |

How do you verify that the 'moles' are genuine?
No need to answer that if it will give people ideas on how to 'spoil' the spoiler. I don't generally follow the spoiler thread, but I have been here long enough to have seen more than one occasion where it has spilled into the main forum. Sometimes because there have been questions about the bona fides of the mole. That lost a good mole. Sometimes because there has been a rammy on the thread. That may have made moles reluctant. Sometimes - as was the case this weekend - because the spoiler was wrong. You can spin it as much as you like - the spoiler managed to be right about who went out. But it was still 50% wrong. And, if any anxious Kirsty fans had read it, how did it help their anxiety to think that she had been unpopular enough to end up in the dance off? Best case scenario is that they spent a few hours worrying about that before watching the results show and realising that Jamelia was more disliked than their girl. Worst case scenario is that they read the spoiler, haven't come back, and are still fretting about Kirsty being in the bottom two. Although she wasn't. I don't get the importance of being able to discuss the result before it has been broadcast. I don't get the need to know the result before it is officially broadcast. I do get the frisson which some denizens of the spoiler thread experienced on Sunday - when the results show announced something unexpected. I've experienced that frisson many times because I watch the results show without having seen a spoiler. There's no real need for a spoiler thread. People will survive without one. But people like it - so that's a good enough reason to have it. So, how do you verify that the 'moles' are genuine? |

Iwan in Dance off - correct Iwan eliminated - correct Kirsty in dance off - incorrect Who went - most important piece of information so I give that 60% weighting for a correct answer Who is in the dance off 20% for each correct answer. So I reckon it was 80% correct. In university marking that's a first! ![]()

Now I see it differently. Its all to do with weighting and the value/importance of the answers.

Why would DS ban a thread which is getting 200,000 views when they get advertising costs from them all?
It's hit over a quarter of a million views - just had a quick & very non-scientific search of DS and the Spoiler Thread looks like the hottest thread on the site!!!! Lotsa things I don't like but the concept of not allowing them is not part of my mentality! |

I must say I used to be in the "wait till the live results" camp , but I'm a total convert to a spoiler thread now , because quite simply it's difficult to avoid spoilers on my fb and twitter accounts so I may as well just get used to it .
Plus I'm more inclined to trust the likes of abigailsmum etc to winnow out the truth among social media rumours for us . She does a sterling job . Last Saturday was just a blip and things will get back on course . |

Abigailsmum drew attention to the need for caution with the result - in particular to the other couple in the dance off! |
