Great trrack, from their best album. I'm not surprised it gets no radio play though, it's quite dark.

Thanks for all the replies here. I've been through most - Missing My Baby: you have to listen hard past the dreariness to hear the good mournful song in there.

So many, so many songs. Seems most are a bit poor (imo) but there really are some gems which exist beyond general taste.

Hang on, Duncan Browne did the music for Travelling Man.

Not too keen on his rather mannered way of singing, but very much like the music.

Here’s a couple more:

Wire - Reuters (1977)

Looting! Burning! Ra-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aape!

And a classical song by Gerald Finzi, setting a poem of Thomas Hardy:

It always reminds me of Radio Caroline, on which it was played to death for a while.

Bourgeois Tagg - I Dont Mind At All. This song only got to number 35 in 1988. I got it on 12" as a kid in Woolworths at the time. Never hear it on the radio. I love it.

It may be the vocals which let them down a bit: I always imagine a little beer bottle bouncing along the top of the lyrics.”

Your opening selection reminded me of this song, even though the tune is entirely different...

There are plenty of others I'd like to look up and add!

I thought I would add this one too!

Harry Nilsson - Without Her:

Not to be confused with the song Without You which he is more famous for!

Gabriella Cilmi is often made out to be a one-hit-wonder. However, I think her best song by a mile is Hearts Don't Lie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PGHnMWtPCw
