Sounds like it's been a Corbyn love in on O'Brien. Ferrari couldn't have been more certain in his comments on what he thought of the result last night. Trying to work out how the 'LBC is trying to destroy Labour' narrative fits in with this.

Yes it is.
When we notice that a wealthy man does not form a company designed to sell Private Healthcare to the NHS and does not join a political party with a rabid interest in chucking money at private healthcare providers......we are paying him a huge compliment.
The stereotype suggests that the the wealthy man can and must take the Lifestyle Choice which will make him an even wealthier man. He must do that because he is Selfish and Greedy.
When you notice that a wealthy man or woman is not making that Lifestyle choice you are paying them a compliment.
A couple of years ago Billy Bragg was the person often called a Champagne Socialist. Thus drawing attention (thanks Suckers!) to a wealthy man who does not just perform concerts for a wonderful charity. His own charity. He does whole freaking tours for the charity.
But what does he live on during the months of touring to produce funds for the charity?

James O'Brien had a choice because he has a higher than average income. Despite his very comfortable lifestyle his political stance is left leaning....hence "Champagne Socialist".....which you don't seem to have comprehended is a compliment.
When we point out that other people......including Politicians......are a "Champagne Socialist" because they have chosen to join the Labour Party and have not chosen to join some other party which would possibly indicate that they are a Greedy Selfish Scumbag....we are paying them a compliment. ”
Sorry but when I use that term I mean "hypocrite". I think most people do. Nice to see your personal slant on it though.
Socialist Shelagh and her Widdecombe show is unbearably dull. NHS, Catholicism, War...Catholicism, NHS, Austerity...NHS, old people. Catholicism, the pope, the pope, Liverpool, Ireland, Ireland, Catholicism, the pope, NHS, NHS...

He lives on his wealth.
Just imagine that Huh?”
Brian is a champagne socialist hypocrite. It's not a compliment.

One purpose of debate (for example on a public forum) is to establish who is and who is not a hypocrite.
For example....at some point we may attempt to define what constitutes Free Speech on a public forum.

In the first week after Paris, Shelagh was the person talking about Health issues, and the NHS, and not the astonishing mind blowing repetition of one topic from most presenters.
But I can see why the daily 6 hour slot of left leaning talk might "bother" you just a little.
BTW MR.....talking of astonishing mind blowing repetition....
I wonder if the JOB Phrase Detection Device is able to detect how often a forum member uses the word "socialist" in a post complaining about the content of LBC output?

I have always taken "Champagne Socialist" to be a compliment.
If it is not, then one is left with a question.
What does a Left leaning person of conscience, who also happens to enjoy an above average level of wealth, have to do to avoid being insulted for the combination?

You are clearly making no effort to belong to the clique!
Once again:
Only the poor may advocate for the poor lest they be hypocrites.
Only refugees may advocate for refugees lest they be hypocrites.
Can anyone explain that vodaphone advert that has the background music Flying Without Wings? I always seem to become conscious of it halfway through so hear the music and a woman talking to something that sounds like a chipmunk.

I'm no apologist for UKIP but I do think James is stretching the facts to fit the point he's trying to make.
And he's wrong to dismiss the toxicity of postal voting. You only have to look back to the facts that came to light during the Towers Hamlets/Lutfur Rahman scandal.”
Obviously if UKIP had won they'd be claiming the postal vote had been rigged aswell. I mean, of course they would.

What is childish about calling him Gobber? He spits in the street so its a nickname based on his disgusting habit. Hardly childish. If I was going to be childish I would call him Mr Potato Face or Goose Grease or something like that

Noo! A one-off or a regular topic? If the former, may have to break the habit of a lifetime and listen to the podcast.
Not his greatest fan but this does make me laugh. Personally, I don't find it as smug and patronising as the letters.
