Do you happen to know what the immigration policy of the USA was from the mid 1920's to the mid 1960's? I have heard some slightly differing reports but they do seem to range from it being a total ban to it being an extremely restrictive policy.

There were restrictions and even instances of repatriation to Mexico, but certainly no total ban.

1953. Two great uncles of mine emigrated to the US with wives and kids. They were both structural engineers and lived and worked in Boston. I did not know that, thanks for filling in a gap in my knowledge. I think it is possble to make a very strong and appealing argument to say that any human being should be allowed to roam anywhere on the face of the planet without restriction.

I wish you'd told me years ago! I often end up inside the duvet cover along with the duvet. Then completely blind put the corners together inside. It can be a struggle.

I dipped into the conversation with a caller who said that he respected people's right to have a belief he didn't respect the beliefs themselves of flying horse, talking ants etc. Shelagh got surly and accused him of using the arguments of a 16year old and that "he needed to do better than that". She was obviously stung by a very simple and pragmatic point of view because it pointed out the ridiculous of the actual beliefs religious people supposedly hold. At that point i switched channels as this was again Shelagh going on about her Catholicism about which I've no interest, only pity.

Shelagh is utterly consumed by her Catholicism and she seems to bring this into almost every show, it's absurd and totally unnecessary in my opinion. I don't want to hear about Shelagh's weird views and if it was another religion I would feel the same - can you imagine a Muslim presenter being indulged in this way? It's completely ridiculous and LBC ought to have a long look at this nonsense. Shelagh is making herself virtually unlistenable with this claptrap, add her other religion and slavish devotion to the NHS (which I am NOT criticising before someone starts all that again) and you have a heady cocktail of bizarre behaviour.

You need pegs (or bulldog clips) Spread the cover on the bed and push the duvet part way in. Take hold of the top left-hand corner of the duvet, and push it up into the matching corner of the cover. Hold in place with peg (on outside), Do the same with other three corners. Fasten cover. Pick up by bottom edge and give it a good shake until the duvet aligns with the cover. Remove pegs. Works for me.

Just heard the repeat of this interview. I'm increasingly impressed with Iain Dale. Hopkins' whole shtick relies on making inflammatory points until she get shouted at, then she can claim the moral high ground.

He handled her a good deal better than that, well done to him.
