I've just listened to the clip on LBC's website. I thought he had a weak argument. I'm neither a racist nor a radical feminist but she has a point. And there seems to be an embarrassed cover-up going on among the authorities in European countries who flung open their borders to thousands of migrants, and who are now regretting it.

i thought his comparison to the kind of language used by the far right (Britain First etc.) was spot on, although she failed to acknowledge it, hiding instead behind like language like 'patriot'.

And you agree with him that she should have taken her three young children to the NYE firework display in London, despite terror threats?

I don't think he did. Unusually for him, I don't think he handled it very well at all.

He became riled, and disingenuous, while she stayed calm and on-topic.

She's saying what a lot of people think, and what a lot of media is scared of saying, and I'm afraid that in this case, again unusually, he sounded like another media type scared of offending Muslims.

There are obvious public events you would attend that you wouldn't take a child to, appropriateness, time of day, whatever.

If however you're not happy to go with your kids to a firework display because of a potential bomb threat, why on earth would you be happy to attend on your own?

How many people do you think actually support Britain First? Can the figure be presented in terms of RAJARs? Audience and reach?

Ian Collins is excellent. I'm a huge fan of his show. He's very, very good. Great stuff tonight.

As they're not a radio station RAJAR is irrelevant.

They claim 1,200,000 supporters based on their Facebook likes. This is unlikely to translate into a similar vote share when (if?) they stand in seats at future elections. Also there's some suggestion they have bought in likes to artifically inflate the numbers they appear to attract.

An insidious organisation to be sure.

Morning g-s. I hate to say this, over Christmas when Hopkins stood in for J O'B she said the exact opposite. She defiantly made out to a caller she was taking her children to the NYE London firework display.
I need not elaborate on the transparency of her shtick, KH can't even remember what's she's said on a previous show!

She filed a whole hour asking the audience if she was right to take her kids to see the fireworks.

I expect she never intended to take them due to logistics, lateness, weather etc, nothing to do with terrorists.

Her whole fake persona is the ballsy b**** that says what she thinks and what others are afraid to say. In reality she says whatever will get her most publicly and most money.

LBC should have nothing to do with her.

This, exactly. It sounded like the Prime Ministerial obligatory 'none of this (whatever it is) has anything whatsoever to do with Islam' introduction when talking about nasty or negative things that happen involving Muslims of any description.

She was discussing whether or not you should take kids to NYE and like most others she's not always consistent. Perhaps she just changed her mind.

TBH, I don't think she said she would; she asked for the listeners opinions. She probably had no intention of doing so but it filled up an hour of air time.

Morning all.

I thought she'd have better things to do, though she's pretty feeble with her inconsistency in keeping up the 'act'.

Your assumption being that people who say they aren't racist must therefore be racist. Tell me how somebody who is genuinely not a racist can express that belief without actually saying they aren't a racist? Or must they keep it to them-self and hope people can read their mind?

Typical left wing double-think and knee jerk reaction.

^^ This, my thoughts exactly. And there's the added question if they immediately make such a declaration, are they a little racist themselves perhaps?
