Due to this I wasn't aware that admin had named the thread and not Mike !!
Obviously I'm not the only one who didn't know
I post and respond I'd say 99% of the time politely and non confrontationaly but Mikes somewhat overbearing and I have to say at times unpleasant attitude if God forbid you don't agree with him is somewhat unnerving
His reply to me yesterday was use the ignore button
As a mod on Facebook on various groups there's nothing more frustrating than trying to mod a group where several of the members have blocked each other so I prefer not to go down that route
All I give is respect and I don't think it's too much to ask the same in return”

I am always very polite to fellow posters. When have I been unpleasant? If I have been, I am very sorry. Bests.

Shock Horror!

Iain Dale confesses to getting busted for shoplifting as a child. Gets a conditional discharge and endures humiliation from his family for stealing a cassette tape.

I am a bit surprised that he was so open about admitting this on-air. Mind you, I now understand perhaps where his boorish behaviour on the Brighton seafront and criminality had its origins.

Yes I enjoyed his shows, a decent presenter with sense of humour.

Wasn't JH-B the favourite of a poster on here called 'lordloz'? He started the 5 live thread and according to that hasn't posted for nearly a year although still forum member. One can't help wondering what happens to people who just disappear from the forum.

BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5Live, LBC, Talksport and the Liverpool station you mentioned are all talk radio stations. That's 5.

What a ridiculous suggestion. Ferrari has the highest-rated talk radio show in London and is LBC's flagship presenter. He is well-known throughout London and many listeners consider him a trusted broadcaster. He is adept at what he does and has been at the top of his game for many years' and as has been shown, many cover presenters have tried and failed to present a show as good as Ferrari's when he has been off. Phil Gayle would be nowhere near Ferrari's level.

Change for changes' sake is completely pointless.

I very much loved JHB on LBC too.

He had an excellent phone-in programme with Fevzi Turkalp - remember those good old days, with Fevzi et. al.?

She was indeed a favourite of Lordloz, he used to be quite open about it.

When people disappear I think sometimes it might just a case of losing focus on certain interests, perhaps if other interests and hobbies come into the fore or life gets in the way for instance.

I'm on a couple of classic car forums and when I've got some project work going on I'll post on them all the time but at other times - which can be for months at a time - I never even look at them.

A better option than the ludicrously PC sister socialist Shelagh of Widdecombe parish. Her show today was the straw that broke the radio monitoring back at Rackabit Towers. The consumption with Catholicism, the obsession with the NHS and the pathetic and indulgent Pilgrimage show at Christmas have pushed the limits of radio reality too far. Time for Shelagh to go back to the odious, champagne socialist BEEB. This HAS NOT worked.

Cologne has set up safe zones for women to enjoy the traditional Karneval next week.

I wonder what Socialist Shelagh thinks of that or who's fault that is?

I never realised you had such an interest in Germany and its current affairs.

Nick is certainly adept, no doubt. I do feel however that for a significant proportion of the time he goes into 'tabloid' mode. When he does stories are exaggerated and spun with truth and accuracy often dissembled to serve whatever narrative purpose he has. When he's on form he's great, when in tabloid mode he's pernicious.

Yes, I have visited Germany many times and Cologne in particular. I have a lot of friends there. Socialist Shelagh was naive and disingenuous. I found it infuriating.

How can this be proven? My views are my own and not dictated by left or right.

Interesting.

It's just that I have never seen you post about Cologne , ever, or about Germany, ever, in these pages, before New Year's Eve.

Suddenly you give us a stream of updates. Maybe I did not notice your earlier contributions.

I think potted biographies, listing all our life experiences, might be deemed off topic.

Morning all.

Certainly , however I don't recall Mike ever discussing Germany's momentous response to the refugee crisis over the summer for example. Or Germany's handling of the financial crisis in Greece. Again, maybe I missed it all.
