You still haven't said what the apologist discussion was exactly. Can you give an example from today so perhaps we could see where you get this opinion from.

He's probably put you on ignore too
Why should Mike give examples ??
He believes it And you KNOW he's ALWAYS right
I've no doubt it may go quiet like the other day and then as if by magic posts will start to disappear
I personally won't put anybody on the ignore button
To me it's like sitting in a cinema watching a film and halfway through someone putting a wall up so you can only see half the screen so missing half the action
I find the atmosphere much improved since I returned and certainly don't intend to go anywhere

Socialist Shelagh is giving a platform to the father of Tareena Shakil, 26, who is the first woman to be convicted of joining the terror group - ISIS. I'm sure Shelagh just thinks that this "vulnerable" young woman has just been the victim of a misunderstanding and should be released. She is always talking about the "girls" from Bethnal Green who were callously groomed and didn't go of their own freewill. Oh no, not in Shelagh's world. Shakil's father has just said that 99% of Muslims would like to die a martyr. Nothing to worry about there then...

I am totally devastated. I can hardly bare to type this, knowing Mike will not be reading. My life has no meaning any more.

She's an able broadcaster but unbearably boring. I hadn't heard her before this LBC stint and was expecting much, much better than this staid BBC Boreathon.

The thread was much improved when the mods moved all the Rackabit noise about James O'Brien to its own thread (which I stay well away from). Sadly, he very quickly found a new presenter to "monitor" and keeps up an almost constant stream of repetitive posts that contain nothing of value about her.

I also don't use the ignore button except in extreme circumstances, and even Mike hasn't gone that far.

It's great knowing he will not be reading this!

Don't be so sure he's not reading it
By the way pertaining to comment about the other thread unless it's changed as I type this his last comment posted on there at 14.25 😄

Shakil's father says 99% of Muslims want to die as a martyr and gets an easy ride from Socialist Shelagh as expected, she lives with a BBC liberal elite tinted worldview that has no relation to the real world. She is so painfully BBC trained that she is frightened to say anything of any consequence. She's able to do the job she has been trained to do but nothing else and this doesn't suit LBC. The long and drawn out delivery, the long pauses as her brain slowly grinds into gear and the immediate jettisoning of callers who don't agree with her politically correct outlook. She's the most ludicrously extreme BBC presenter I have ever heard on commercial radio.

At least we have Iain Dale to steady the LBC ship this afternoon. A professional presenter who can host debate and discussion in a sensible and informed manner.

I've listened to Ferrari since the beginning of last year and the weirdest call I ever heard was in Summer of last year, when a woman rang up to say that Britain and America should build a city in the middle of the Sahara desert to house all the refugees. It was so bizarre that Nick didn't cut her off and actually entertained the idea for a few minutes, questioning the caller, before finally cutting her off.

I think the first hour of Ferrari is obviously the busiest and if you're a caller at that point in the programme then you know you're not going to get long to make your point. If you want to make a more thorough point or have a proper conversation with Nick, you're better off calling in after 9am when the rest of the show is dedicated mostly to calls.

The woman just on Iain Dale's programme talking about genetic modification was meant to be the head of some sort of ethics organisation, but she struggled a bit when quizzed by Iain on her beliefs! I thought she would do better seeing as debating these kinds of topics seemed to be pretty much her day job. She didn't seem to have much of a coherent argument and Iain was certainly on top in the exchange!

Chris Golds is doing the travel reports on Iain Dale's show this afternoon. Normally he does the travel on Nick Ferrari- perhaps he has moved shifts.

I am sure he was on this morning. They did have Eleanor Noakes reading the news instead of Lisa Aziz.

As Mr Podcaster here, and a political anorak I'm actually listening live to Iain Dale at the moment. What cracking coverage he is doing of the american election race. After spending most of yesterday reviewing the Iowa caucus on CNN news channel and now this, I must hand it to Mr Dale.

Incidentally, I don't listen to Shelagh Foggerty much except on occaisions such as Gideon's budget reveiw last June and the occaisional podcast, but I have to say I don't mind her 'BBC' style! I wouldn't like some of the 'fence sitting' and 'appologist' tendancies she is said to exhibit though.

The only shows on LBC I listen to are Nick Ferrari at Breakfast and Iain Dale at Drive, so I didn't expect to hear the same travel reporter on both of them in the same day! I thought Chris Golds was on this morning but then I thought it must have been Amy Solomon instead and Chris Golds was just going Drive today. But I think you are right- perhaps he has done both shows today! That's a long shift for him if he has!

Regarding the Iowa caucus I did not know until yesterday that voting is done in public and not just rocking up and putting a tick in a box. Voters need to sit in and take part in discussions then stand in a group for their choice, a bit like Runaround in the 80s.
This process is unique to Iowa and I can see why that is.
