Extraordinary scenes, ND!

I much prefer Eleanor Noakes, anything is preferable to Lisa Aziz. Her strident screeching 'chalk on a blackboard' voice at 6.30am could produce a challenge to any mere cockerel.

I'm starting to worry about you. Mildred Pierce's monotone voice resembles that of a parson delivering a dirge of a sermon. The sort of thing you really need first thing in the morning - NOT. Are you feeling alright?

Lol. I know it's amazing! I hated him as much as anyone when he first started back there on a Saturday. I liked the Sunday shows way back though, before Iain Dale got the slot, he ws always good then.

Just a question; how much do posters or lurkers () like Iain Dale? Does he keep you listening for the duration of his show?

Excellent presenter, one of the very best. Encapsulates what LBC is about.

Anyone else up for thoughts on Iain Dale?

Unusually for me, I agree with Mike.

He's only good when he does the political stuff.

I think he's a very able and professional presenter who does a great programme. However, his programme is the sort of show that I would listen to for half an hour to 45 minutes and then turn off. It's not unmissable radio. Nick Ferrari on the other hand, I listen to whenever I can, and if I have missed a bit of his show then I will usually catch up on the podcasts.

He is one of the better presenters on LBC. He also (occasionally) contributes to the LBC threads using his real name.

He's good when there's a big political news story doing the rounds or when he's covering an election. Otherwise it's all a bit meh. I have to say when Ian Payne sits in for him, he's a lot more involving and I prefer him.

The Dale, Bull, Collins triumvirate is excellent radio on LBC. Collins has grabbed the 10pm show and made it his own with aplomb. Hard work and experience paying off for Col IC.

I don't listen to all of his show, & I agree he's one of the top presenters & he's best on the political subjects.

He makes me cringe somewhat when he does the Sky paper review because he can be quite condescending to Jacqui Smith.

I heard this and later wondered if it might have anything to do with an item on the BBC local news this evening about a bunch of 'jokers' called (I think) Trollstation. They stage 'pranks' and film the public's reaction for Youtube. Perhaps it was being discussed on another station (BBC London?) and the caller rang LBC by mistake. That has happened on previous occasions.

She was better on Radio 5 when she was paired with another presenter, but I don't think she's got the depth to carry a show by herself.

I enjoy his political discussions, but otherwise it depends on the subject as to whether I listen. He can be quite nasty with people who disagree with him. On Twitter last week he and LBC kept mentioning and inviting us to listen to his row with Katie Hopkin. I don't know why as she was more rational and calm that he was and regardless of whether you agreed with her or not, I thought she came over better because he lost his rag.

Hopkins always remains calm and collected.

Collins demolishing the Brian and Shelagh narrative on events in Rotherham.

There was another video clip of Brian on the home page of the LBC website today and again he was looking like a fool with his cans over only his left ear and his right ear exposed.

Whoever writes those blurbs that describe the video and audio clips is prone to some ridiculous exaggeration. The impression given is always that the caller has been completely demolished by the presenter but in the clips I have played it is not like that at all.

I was looking for the Wee Eck phone-in from last week but I couldn't find it.

What's wrong with that ? It's fairly common to do that in radio. If your listening via an Off Air feed compression can be quite ofputting at times due to a small delay, with one ear on the other off this is less noticeable.

You usually come across as quite "in the know" but I have to say I am a little puzzled by that. I have seen people do it but usually only when they are inexperienced or in a very specific set of circumstances.

So in this scenario, what do you think Brian is listening to in his left ear and what is he listening to in his right ear?

Surely you would not normally monitor via the Off Air feed would you? The problem there would not so much be the compression but the profanity delay. The norm is to monitor the desk output when you are in normal full-flow broadcasting mode and you do it with your cans properly on your head over both ears.

You don't see the other hosts sitting there looking like plonkers the way Brian does. Not even that silly old goat The Farridge.

Nice surprise to have Tom doing the Morning News.

(OT - nice surprise that Trump's bandwaggon has hit a bump)

Morning all.
