Had enough of this demons nonsense. IMO mental health issues should be treated seriously and not thrown out there wearing a clown suit as is happening now. Poor form JOB.

Have to agree, not good radio.

The part of his show I heard, he mentioned Metformin, a Diabetes drug, which you certainly don't take other than as prescribed, or he would be very ill. He was just 'doing a turn' on his show - strictly not to be taken seriously.
What did concern me was his repeating "more insulin......yet more insulin". That would mean he'd now be in a Hypoglyceamic coma, and possibly dead. It's not something you can mess with as a Diabetic, or really joke about IMO, but there you are. I don't know if he received any complaints as I missed the rest of his show.

Why? Did the SNP losing the Scottish Independence vote silence their views? Ofcourse not! SalmondOnLBC is now a weekly programme.

Is that how you refer to Steve Allen Fans? If not, whom?

Maybe Sister Superior Shelagh of Widdecombe could spice up the first hour of her show today by speaking in tongues instead of dozing off? I wonder what her views are on demonic possession? I'm sure plenty of her views could be considered similarly outlandish to those being discussed over the last 24 hours on LBC.

What a contrast to BBC Radio North, otherwise known as 5Live, who were quoting a local radio opinion poll of 2000 people, characterising "economically better off London as more welcoming to Syrian refugees, whilst the economically deprived North East is not".

It prompted me to switch over to Ferrari and catch that astonishing interview, and the (mostly Londoners) opinions that followed. Why does the media still quote opinion polls when the election proved them to be blatantly unreliable and inaccurate?

The big difference is that the SNP were the party of government in Scotland for years before the indy ref. A majority government even though the voting system was designed to stop any party having an overall majority.
Of course there will still be anti EU grumblings post a remain vote but they will come from the batlicking moon howlers. The vast majority will be glad to see the back of it

[quote=Barnard;81387356]Mike Rackabit is just a troll. An old school internet troll, the kind of troll who knows exactly what he's doing. Trolling doesn't mean personal abuse, trolling is the art of knowing what you write will wind people up. Trolling is the art of leaving bait, knowing that people will bite.

I don't think it is fair to single out Mike Rackabit. There are several posters on here, some who seem to like hunting in packs, who could fall within the same category.
Some posts here are fairly repetitive and don't add much - after all, how much can be said about spikes and presenting styles day after day after day. But if posting about a radio station floats your boat, you have to live and let live a little. I also hate James o'brien and SF. So perhaps I best leave now...

What a sensible and measured post by The Countess. Please don't be a stranger to this thread (or the other more entertaining Brian thread). All best wishes to you for the rest of the week.

What is it about this thread that attracts people who have more to say about other contributors than they do about LBC?

This thread seems to be attracting folks who want to diss other folks in an "over the garden wall" scenario Sad really, I cannot put this down to LBC being a lousy radio station when there is nothing that can be said about its output and its presenters in a constructive way?

The search facility on DS has been broken for ages Sleeps and is vastly inaccurate, I don't think GS' post was picking out one person in particular, it was just a general comment, with which I agree.

Farage on Question Time tonight. Again. Is he due to do his gig with NF in the morning? Hope he can make it back from Bradford without his nuts coming loose or immigrants blocking up the motorway or some new excuse that blames someone else for his own shortcomings.

What has the last time I posted got to do with anything? Really? If you must know I've been nursing my father through advanced cancer. Wouldn't normally share but as it is Cancer Day today... Anyway, I realise I am off topic so I'll pipe down and know my place.

A presenter who doesn't seem to crop up that often is Stig Abell. I sort of like listening to him and he seems genuine, but not hard hitting enough. I hate to say it but he was better with Kay Burley. Any thoughts?

I think would benefit greatly from a radio foil as, like you say. he is very lightweight at times. Quite surprising when you consider where and who he works for. He could go on to be quite an accomplished broadcaster, but he always looks like he has been vastly over-promoted by an Uncle in the family business.

The first guest on Iain Dale's show this afternoon (the founder of the parenting website) was making a lot of controversial points and advocating a rather unconventional parenting method, but she wasn't really challenged that much by Dale. I felt we would have got a much better interview if he had questioned her more rigorously on some of her points.

He's OK but, like Andrew Pierce in the same spot of Saturday, just a bit verbal wallpaper. In fact, when they sit in for each other, as they occasionally do, I hardly notice.

Kay Burley was one of those rare presenters who united us all (well, virtually all) in our hatred of her!
