A whole week without my little girl
Now my big lad, who's 13, has to have his teeth descaled. I worry about him having the anaesthetic, although they will assess him first. But he is such a scaredy cat, terrified of everything & everybody, this whole process is going to be so traumatic for him. (and me)

Hi Daisydee, how did you boy get on?? I hated when my elderly moggie had to go under anaesthetic and he had really bad teeth so it was a regular occurrence, he had all of his teeth removed eventually at 15 and managed fine without them! The vet used to tell us he would be very sleepy afterwards but he was the opposite! He used to run around the house with his eyes like saucers before finally crashing out a few hours later!

Sorry I'm only just replying, just noticed this when looking through threads in my CP. Seemed rude not to answer after your kind enquiry.

Merlin has now joined my elderly puss in pussycat heaven.

He had to have 10 teeth extracted and his mouth remained sore for so long (a couple of weeks) that the Vet gave him a double injection - an antibiotic and a pain killer. That evening he had a massive seizure and the next day another one. He was in a really bad way and I knew from experience that he was not going to recover. It seemed kindest for him to be pts .
