How do you like your steak?

Used this Degrees of steak doneness chart for the poll options.

My preference is medium rare.

NOTE: If you don't eat steak for whatever reason, please ignore this thread/poll. It's not intended to be a meat eating debate.

Usually medium rare. I find places tend to overcook it slightly, so I know if I ask for medium rare I'll get closer to what I call medium. Anymore than that and it starts veering into tough territory.

Not intended to be a meat-eating debate?? What about those who don't eat it simply because they don't like it? That's not getting into animal rights debate or anything - it's personal taste.

The reason I'm objecting to "I don't like/eat steak" being left off is that in future years someone could raise this thread and say "But of course everyone eats steak - just read this thread!"

... well, maybe not, but I'm just a pernickety bugger.

PS - I don't like steak.

If God didn't want us to eat meat rare he would have made cows medium/well done.

The thread is titled "How do you like your steak?" and I thought that wording would be sufficient for anyone to understand that this thread is aimed at people who actually eat steak, but apparently not.

Whole cuts of meat only have bacteria on the outside so as long as the outside is cooked then they are perfectly safe to eat.
