Training clip all the way for me but clearly the Comedy VTs must be popular with someone or the producers wouldn't show them.

Come on, own up, who are you?

Not me! I can't think of a single "comedy video" I've enjoyed, while a lot of genuine humour comes out in training.

It's not me, I much prefer genuine footage from the training room, they can be naturally amusing at times without all the - lets go and eat black pudding stuff!! Taking them out on silly jaunts is also a waste of training time.

Well have the producers asked anyone or simply presume ?
I find the comedy VTs so annoying that I mute them . So tedious and immature
Training clips are far more watchable and in fact I would base my votes partially on how they train
I would be interested too in the hours they put in and the effort made

If they want comedy in the VTs then surely theres enough footage of the celebs falling over and giggle fits whilst training? I cant understand the need for contrived scenarios, you can actually feel the contestants cringing through it!

The only times when i think trips out of the training room are ok is when the celeb is going to their day job (Anita and Katie's VTs had this) because its still natural and personal.

Training VTs please please please!

Did we really benefit from seeing the trip to the races, the haircut, or black pudding VTs? Those are just the first ones that spring to mind from this week, am sure there have been way worse! Movie week is bound to bring some comedy ones.

"The only times when i think trips out of the training room are ok is when the celeb is going to their day job (Anita and Katie's VTs had this) because its still natural and personal." - Agree!

It's not though is it?! All that 'let's show my colleagues a bit of our dance' (in two foot of space) .. so unnatural and contrived.
I think nearly everyone would prefer proper training room VT's .. but they still keep foisting this rubbish on us. Even the actors in the line-up struggle to make it convincing.

I will never understand why they did away with the training footage - it was always how I used to get a real sense about a partnership. I wish they would bring them back...have the odd comedy one if they wanted to, but let us see the couples train.

Even if you think the day job trips are contived, they are still better than the gimiky prop sessions and foodie festivals that seem to be happening. At least they're dancing!

If anyone really does like the comedy VT's, they're not the people who would visit this forum. Training footage for me, absolutely!

training VT for me please

I never understand why the drag the couples OUT of the training rooms to film these awful VT's when they have footage they can use already

we all want to see it - why the heck dont they show it to us!!

I know nothing of any of the 'filler' that pads out Strictly.
I'm working Saturday evening when it's on so I record it and watch it at 9pm when I get home.
I fast forward through everything except the dances, the judges comments and the scores. Everything Bruce, Tess or Claudia have ever said on the Saturday night show has past me by.
All the VTs, chitter-chat upstairs while waiting for the scores to come in....not interested.

They show bits of training on ITT, but not nearly enough.

I guess the thinking is that 15 training VTs on the trot gets a bit monotonous, but all I'm thinking when they do the 'comedy' and other videos is that they've wasted a lot of training time on them.

Plus we are bound to start seeing Mr & Mrs From-Grimsby senior at some stage in the 'comedy' VTs.

I wonder if they are specifically meant to appeal to children given that it's a "family show"?

If they don't want to show the training room clips for some reason they could show their ITT interviews with Zoe , some of those are quite enlightening. The one last week with Daniel showed a much more fun and self aware side to him then I had expected. Not everyone watches ITT (probably because of their constant 'fillers') but the interviews are worth seeing - usually!

Training VT's for me, without question. I want them to have as much time training as possible and they already have to film ITT, they shouldn't have to waste precious time on these unfunny, pointless segments that no-one seems to enjoy watching. Let's see how hard they're really working (or not) to improve.

Can only echo what everyone else has said - I absolutely hate all the scripted rubbish. Training VT's please!

Training VTs please. I cannot stand the fake comedy stuff the producers think we like. The only half decent one at the weekend was Iwan and Ola's as that was more about his training. I think even the pros are taking the Mick out the crap VTs though, in a genius move we see some seriously bad acting in them, ahem, Pasha

I remember Matt and Alesha's training videos, I really enjoyed them. The 'comedy' VTs are pathetic .. please take note, producers, and get rid of them!!

Another vote here for training footage - I hate the comedy clips.

It used to be that they would only make comedy VTs in the latter stages of the competition, but now it's every week right from the first week. They're cheesy and naff - I just want to see celebrities learning to dance.

And the celebs themselves probably hate having to do them every week as it takes time away from training.

It has certainly become more 'comedy' (which I hate) and less training. I really want to see the celebs learning the steps (obviously not giving too much away until you see the full routine) but these contrived sketches are demeaning and treat the viewer as if they're 5yr old children.

What I like about Strictly is that it shows (or at least it used to) some celebrities gradually mastering some fairly tricky dance steps. On the way you got an idea of how difficult it was and some insight into their personalities (ie beyond the show-biz Glitz). Now they only shows training clips if they have a comedy element and the whole show is more an more 'stage-managed'. Even Zoe has moved away from any (?) Ad Libs and it just reading the auto-cue/note-card.

I'm sure that the judges have their lines pre-written so they can include awful puns etc. rather than just watching the dance, giving an honest opinion negative yes but also some positives) and perhaps adding some points that would help the celebs improve. They also, in my view rather over-act and the whole thing gets OTT.

maybe the apogee of crapedy VTs was Brenda in armour saving his fair maiden Anita Dobson in 2011

Another vote for training footage here. The 'comedy' videos just come across as being very tacky and make the couples look stupid.
