Here is the official line from EE:
"We do not offer a change of mind policy in stores, however, if you are experiencing coverage issues or our coverage does not meet your expectation, you can return your purchase to us within first 14 days to any of our retail stores." Your best bet is to go in and tell them that the coverage in your home is actually terrible and this is where you will use your phone the most, so you need to cancel. Info here: http://ee.co.uk/help/accounts-billin...contract-ee-tm Out of interest, what contract did you take out, and why do you want to cancel? |

According to the citizen's advice you don't actually have the legal right to cancel within 14 days if you bought the contract in-store Quote:
You don’t have the legal right to a 14-day cooling-off period if you signed up in person (ie you met someone from the company in person and signed a contract). It's worth asking anyway - they might let you cancel if you're confident and ask for a 'goodwill gesture'.
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/co...bile-contract/But, as it says, you might be best to ask them for a goodwill gesture. Under the circumstances, I'd try and get back there tomorrow rather than Thursday because I think that'll greatly bolster your chances of them reversing the decision. |

I initially tried ringing 150 to have my number transferred to new phone...couldn't get through so went into shop as thought might as well just get a new paygo sim
assistant said the lines were down but there was a way he could do it and that was for me to have this sim only contract for 9.99pm but I have since found and didn't realise then I have less internet allowance 500mb instead of 1gb though I do now have 500 minutes which I didn't have before but since getting this hubby has been online and found far better sim only deals I don't mind losing my number....can I cancel the DD...or is that not possible? thank you |

Of course you can cancel the direct debit. But you shouldn't do that until you have confirmed that you've cancelled the contract, as it'll just mean that they'll demand payment some other way (and they'd be within their rights to do that).
Cancelling direct debits are for when you no longer need to pay a company or if they've done something very wrong. It isn't a way to cancel stuff you don't want. I would ring 150 tomorrow and ask that you want to cancel, you probably don't need to go into the shop. If you explain that you think it is bad value they may even give you a better deal. If you want to keep the number, ask for a PAC |

Apparently they don't have a 14 day cooling off period for transactions carried out in the shop rather than by phone or online

This is one of the benefits of ordering online -- cooling off.
That being said are you sure coverage is good enough for you EVERYWHERE you need to use it, really, absolutely sure? no important gaps? After all everyone has differing expectations

![]() Will probably just keep this sim cheers ![]() But why keep something you signed for in haste ?. Why not at least try to return it and cancel the contract ?. Go back there today and explain that you can't afford it, you signed up in haste and you'd like to return it. If they say no, they say no but if it's been 24 hours (or less) since you signed, you may well get a goodwill gesture and they may cancel it. It doesn't hurt to ask .. |
