Me too Starpuss. He has endeared himself to me by his sense of the ridiculous and his gentle manner. I think he has a strong work ethic too.

He is not as bad dancer as Widdy or John Sargent, and probably has a stronger fan base, so yes he can make the final, but hopefully wont (as much as I have warmed up to him).
The point will be whether at some point the judges manufacture a leaderboard where he ends up in the dance off and the other couple gets saved. |

If he is to survive to the final he just needs to avoid getting into a dance off once Carol, Jeremy, Kirsty, Anthony, Ainsley and Jamelia have gone.
Otherwise he is toast. |

Going to be interesting to see his jive and some of the Latin dances!
But I mean his personality is not what I thought it would be so I'm pleasantly surprised. I had no expectations of his dance ability and will judge each dance as he does it |

Not looking forward to any of his Latin dances. Daniel and a rhumba just doesn't seem right!
![]() The older ladies won't know who to vote for Daniel or Anton !! |

I do like being clairvoyant ![]() Quote:
I guarantee you Daniel will be a fan favourite, and not just with the blue rinse brigade. I cannot stand his music, but in interviews he has always demonstrated a wry, even sly sense of humour, an absolute refusal to take himself too seriously and buckets of charm and grace.

I don't think he'll win, but he'll probably get to about the halfway stage. Once he starts doing faster Latin he will look very much like a Dad Dancer going for it.

If by interesting you mean he probably won't be very good then no, he probably won't.

I think he's likely to go a lot further than his actual dancing ability allows due to the fact that he has a simply massive fan base.
That said I think he's a way off being the worst dancer just yet. |

![]() ![]() He seems charming in an odd way. He's clearly had the same effect on a lot of us............. Kristina knows exactly how to play him - he'll last until he's in a dance off. (And if his fans are as dedicated and numerous as reported, that could be some time off.) |

Not a snowflake in hell's chance of winning, but Daniel is more likeable than John Sergeant - seems to work harder too. And he would never have the hubris to withdraw due to being "too popular".
I think - correct me if I'm wrong - that Sergeant got as far as he did because it was in the "no dance off" era. With dance offs, I can only think of 1 ,max 2 people, who never got under the red light. Personally I think Peter André's fanbase would be larger than Daniel's especially in the later stages of the competition. Nowadays it's very easy for a voted midfielder to find him/herself in the bottom 2 (as Jamelia found out, to her great astonishment) and the judges will remove Daniel on the basis of his dancing form if it is not better than that of the other couple. |

If they allowed his fans in the Republic of Ireland to vote, I think Daniel could go a long way. But has he got many fans in the rest of the UK ?
I had heard of him before Strictly, but he didn't seem to be exactly a household name. I've no doubt that he has gained support in the UK, and he seems to be a likeable guy. But I can't see that support being strong enough to take him past half-way. Ps..Don't forget, with John Sergeant, Ann Widdecombe etc, wasn't there was some deliberate "spite the judges" voting going on ? That mood appears to have disappeared for now. |

Daniel is a good dancer, he's better than that wooden Georgia.
he could make the final, and i hope he makes the final and wins Strictly. but Georgia needs to go home, she's dull and boring, wooden and lacks personality. Poor Giovanni, that he has to dance with someone so dull and wooden. #TeamDantina Georgia to go home |

No, common sense will prevail and he'll be gone way before then. Nicer bloke than Peter Andre though, who will be in the final.

she chose that horrible Bond Theme, that's what has happened.

You firstly stated the Sam Smith song was a good choice for a rumba and point out that Pixie also had one, but a few posts down you're saying it's a boring song and you hate her for choosing it !!
