Warburton bread

The one that is wrapped in blue paper. Is it my imagination or has it shrunk? I always buy three loaves a month for lunch sarnies and normally I get 5 slices of cheese in a Sandwich, but now it's only four. I thought when I got the slice out it was small.

Am I going mad.

What have they done to that bread in general, I'm sure it never used to be that doughy, to me it's undercooked!

The Danish is great though and you can't beat their crumpets!

It's definitely changed. It used to be my favourite 'stereotypical' supermarket white bread, and a must for bacon or egg sandwiches. But now it's not as nice. I prefer Aldi's own toastie, but I remember when Aldi's was just a good second best. It also helps that Aldi's is half the price of Warburtons.

I wonder if it's connected to the fact that the price steadily crept up to about £1.50 per loaf over the years, but now seems to be £1 in most places? Have they just slashed their margins or... are the ingredients and manufacturing processes now cheaper.

Well it still weighs the same so it looks like it's your imagination.

I'd forgotten all about this thread ... I think I posted it when I was drunk.

I still think the bread has shrunk though. Very rarely we have a fish finger sandwich ... perfect comfort food. Normally you get 5 fingers in a sarnie, and now its 4.
