There are 18! Hopefully audition videos in a few hours.

The same bunch of arrogant frakkers we get every year.

Let's admit it we don't watch this programme to see them succeed, we watch to see them fall flat on their faces

I expect we'll get lots of goodies soon, as the official series launch is this morning in London. (Sadly I got an invite but couldn't go ...)

Man, the oldest contestant is 34 which is the same age as me, I know I'm getting old now.

Couple of hot birds in there.

Sam Curry seems ok from the brief we get on them.

The oldest one is 47, I think she's called Ruth

18 seems a lot, seems they'll probably do a few mass culls again for 'shock' factor. I'd prefer about 12 decent candidates rather than 18 and having a few shit ones thrown in, the first few weeks always feel like we're simply going through the motions whilst the numbers are being whittled down.

18 candidates - that means more multi-firings!

It's mixed teams from the start this time. Interesting...

A bit different mix to usual - plumbers , builders, hairdressers..Looks like a lot may fail on location, or providing big enough bucks - regardless. Few from the big corporate world. One academic high flyer -but she's ticking off a lot of his biases. Some are in the same fields as past winners - which may rule them out, or in. There's a lot of people there from events management who ought to be good at related tasks. I imagine, though, that most are going to fail on what they are offering , not what they do on task, again.

I think 18 is a good number as there may be a few double firings which are often warranted in the Apprentice and in previous format with 16, a few people got off very easily; means that there can be three double firings, maybe a triple as well; I notice that there is a candidate who is 47? That is older than Karen Brady? Find that a bit weird; I haven't found as annoying from profiles and videos as usual; does anyone remember Luisa's video? Cringe

I said I wouldn't mind 18. But I think I would have preferred 16.

It is actually quite odd that Ruth is older than Karren - the poor woman doesn't look great

I really liked Luisa's audition - she was one of my favourites based on the videos.

Did anyone else find the scribble sound effect on the videos really annoying??

I think my favourite males are Dan and Sam - both seem very genuine. My favourite females I think are April and Charleine.

Butler-Smythe...and he's a builder , not the 13th duke of wimblen?

I've been waiting YEARS for this. So sick of boys vs girls

Does Sugar still have a massive chip on his shoulder about people who have an education??

I agree, the reason I wanted it is that it allows the storylines to develop right from the start, and having a mass reshuffle in Week 3 or 4 makes it feel a bit disjointed,

However... According to the RT article, it's boys vs girls for Week 2. The producers just couldn't resist could they! They seem to love boys vs girls...

Think it's just because it's easier to know the candidates immediately. We know the characters, the names, etc. Mixed teams is a bit harder.

C'mon, Verence - we need something to fill the void left by CBB! Longing for it, and all the falling-flat-on-their-faces!! Pining even - maybe I need to get a life ...

Charleine is obviously going to be the crazy one from the girls

Richard is going to get on my nerves.

Why does Vana speak with an American accent

Why are the young females always so arrogant (poor Laura Moore ), well except Susan who always came across a bit dim.

My initial pick for the final five:

- Dan
- Jennifer
- Scott
- Selina
- Aisha

Will probably all change after next week though

P.S. Already looking forward to the first intro, as most of the candidates have a distinctive face so we won't get into a Sarah/Roisin debate in the spoiler thread (although that was mostly based on spoiler pics).

Well funny you should say that as Bigg Boss the Indian Big Brother which is always a celebrity version starts this Sunday at 9pm on a channel named COLORS (Sky 821)

Quickly scanning them I think Vana might do well if her plan is related to her day job, three words that would make Suge's eyes gleam, "social media" and "entrepreneur".

I'm glad there are 18 candidates, I enjoyed the multiple firings last year but thought 20 was too many.

Don't think it is necessary to do mixed teams from the start, I prefer boys vs girls in the early stages when we are getting to know their names.

Favourite girls so far are Aisha and Vana. I like Dan and David from the boys.

Maybe some will look better when they aren't posing and pouting. Judging by the group shot there's only one really hot one in the group and she's got a weird doughnut shaped arrangement for a hairstyle. Will be interesting if she sticks with that during the series because when the phone rings and there are only five minutes to get ready for the car (or whatever ridiculous time they mention this series) she'll never get that done in time.

That combination didn't work too well for Solomon last year.
