Never mind the spoiler thread

I would LOVE to know the voting figures. Any BBC moles out there who could give us a few hints or leaks?

I don't think they have ever been revealed but I'm might be wrong.

I totally understand why they don't reveal them - it could sway voting for one thing - but I'd love to know what they are

I think if you were to make a FOI application through the policy and compliance unit at the BBC they will give you the voting data but maybe not until the end of the series.

Available at the end of the series. Not released beforehand as it could influence future voting.

I think several people have tried that but they still won't release it. There's some sort of loophole as its commercially sensitive info.

They are quite within their rights to withhold them, I think that if it was taken to a court then they would throw it out as a trivial request of no importance. The only way that the BBC would be forced to disclose would be if there was serious suggestions of them manipulating the figure. The paranoid accuse them of that every year but I can't see it happening, there would have to be some proper evidence and not just a man in a pub told me.

I would like to know too but it's not going to happen

IF the figures were revealed do you think it would influence your vote (assuming you do vote) For instance if you knew your favourite had been in the bottom two the week before would you then vote strategically as against voting for your favourite?

I agree, I wasn't suggesting they should release them and I think anyone taking it to court would be seriously wasting everyone's time. I'm nosy so I'd like to know, but I wouldn't want to be a celeb going on there and then having everyone know just how little people liked me. Being in the dance off repeatedly is bad enough. I also think if one person (as was rumoured to have been the case with Harry) dominated the voting all through the series so no one else stood a chance, it could affect whether people bother to vote etc. in future.
