Um, non-dancer's very ignorant question, just looking for reassurance really, but is Jay's song a jive? Aren't a twist and a jive quite different? As someone with no ear for these things at all.
I hope Aliona and Jay's Jive will be a turbocharged version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9dS0K8pSIs |

The You Never Can Tell part is a great Jive song.
I hope Aliona and Jay's Jive will be a turbocharged version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9dS0K8pSIs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eJZTXn_JUc It may not end up being totally a jive, but I bet it will be a crowd pleasing dance

i'm saying i don't have high hopes for Georgia and Giovanni, but that's a positive thing.
because if you put your hopes to high, she'll let you down. we'll see how she does in training, with Waite's Wednesday warm up. but i'm sorry if i said negative things about her, i'm still TeamGG. but i'm not gonna be overconfident, like i did with her waltz. |

Odds on they bring in a specialist vocalist. Who's the guy they call in for Michael Jackson stuff? Perhaps he can do this. (And it's a cr*p song, by the way)
Interesting to hear how well the chosen guitarist channels Dick Dale... i've got no expectations for this Rumba, so no pressure

and the music video from Writings on the wall has more likes than dislikes on YouTube.
but at least i'm happy they are not dancing to the overused Armageddon theme. the songs i don't like from the choices: Ainsley and Boogie Wonderland dressed as a Pinguin. Daniel and Grease Summer Nights's, too cheesy song for my taste Kellie and Star Wars Charleston, no from me, Cantina Band ( Disco Version) |

I like Kirsty's song because it is from one of my favourite Disney films.

Really like Jay and Alionas song choice for a jive, especially if it is mostly never can tell, perfect jive music.
A lot of others are hit and miss, feel sorry for Georgia, that song is not great, but especially for a rumba, I have a feeling it may look a bit stilted, but that isjust the picture of it in my head. |

Jays song choices (and theme... not really a family film is it with the gimp, the heroin overdose etc) are a bit off the wall but you can jive to them. The chuck berry one would ideally need to be sped up but imo it's totally fine rhythm wise!
Peter andres one is still the real head scratcher for me. I think it would be so hard to do a paso to it. |

"You Never Can Tell" was used as a jive in series 2. Roger Black and Camilla danced to it.

I think Georgia's dance could be beautiful if she uses her acting skills to bring out the emotion in the song as well as dancing it well of course. I've got high hopes for this.

we don't know the choreography yet, so have faith.

I didn't think it was a great song when I first listened to it (too much falsetto). But last week we danced to it in class and our teacher did some great choreography. I think it's completely different sitting at home and listening, to doing it in a dance studio with the song played really loudly. It does have great dramatic potential and as it is slow, you can interpret it lyrically more easily than just doing a set of steps to the rhythm. We tried to act out 'writing' and hitting a wall

neither am I Ellie but I liked that very much indeed...love it when the matadors do that knee walking on the floor (yep, sure that's the technical term for it!) Loved it when Val and Artem did that in Rumer's trio Paso. Thanks for that video, I missed a lot of SYTYCD except Tommy Franzen's bits.
thanks again X

Can't believe them singers are going to be allowed to crucify The Writings on the Wall already!

I'm not keen on Peter's music . I can see where it delivers the drama , but it just doesn't click with me . Well , we'll see how it goes come saturday .
Jay's choices are much more 'normal' for the dance he is doing and with his dance school experience he should kill it . Georgia might be in trouble with her dance this week . She has'nt delivered like I thought she would to be honest . I thought she'd be terrific, but she's just ok so far . Really looking forward to Daniel this week . ![]() Kellie will be good . She always is , but yet there is something missing with her .Not sure what it is but it stops me from really REALLY liking her .Jeremy will be fun to watch again . Bless him , he just goes for it full pelt , like Daniel .
