Might be a bit early to do a spoiler thread, but considered it a good idea - if anyone knows any of the results, team names, tasks etc., please post into this thread.

As I did last year, I'll try to add a few hints in the days leading up to each episode. Anything relating to the outcome of the task or events in the boardroom is strictly embargoed for reviewers but I'll add a few teasers for everyone to chew over.

I wasn't able to attend yesterday's launch so I haven't seen the opening episode, but hopefully I'll be able to put something up by the weekend for episode 1 and then Thursday morning for episode 2.

Nothing spoilery, but a few quotes from the opening episode that made me chuckle:

"I'm like the Swiss army knife of business skills. I'm a captain at the front of a cavalry charge. I race forward and people follow."

"If I wanted to be loved, I'd go to Tinder."

"I'm now the Godfather of business and I'm going to make Lord Sugar an offer he cannot refuse."

"Women and fish? Oh my God. 'I'm not touching it.' 'It's stinking.' 'It's slimy, this, that and the other.'"

"Can I sort of throw my thought into the thought pond?"

A few snippets for tomorrow's second episode:

1. "I'm the prickly customer." (Groan.)

2. "What about 'Manly Moist'?"

3. One overconfident candidate stating before their agency pitch, "I don't need cards and all that kind of stuff" - and promptly coming a cropper.

4. "So you could have called it 50 Shades of Grey, then?"

5. A panda onesie.

Yes, you are probably correct.

Between the crying in the intro and the new ominous preview clip, I would be very surprised to see this candidate surviving into next week.

Also, the task 3 description for next week basically gives away if a female or male gets fired tomorrow:

Spoiler

Will need to inspect the intro more, when it gets available to people outside the UK, to see who definitely survives the above task.

Knowing that it's still girls vs boys makes it easier to figure out who leaves in tasks 2 and 3, now that I've looked at the intro a lot more closely. Here's a summary of intro shots from the first episode (excluding longshots):

From this, we can deduce that the person fired tonight is

and that in task 3:

In effect, it suggests that the teams go back to gender in task 3, implying a girl gets fired tonight to balance such teams up beforehand.

The candidates who quite probably survive until week 4 are:

Likely to get fired next week are one of the following:

With the first two being the most likeliest, as the latter is seen in one of the preview clips (but could be from yesterday's episode; haven't rewatched it yet). We will at least know which team loses next week.

Yes, that team does (seem to) lose. Which means we already know if the PM gets the chop or not.

Seems like the fired candidate is

Shades of series 9 there.

Would assume that the teams get shuffled in week 4, but too soon to make a guess on how they will look (would first need to see the ep. 2 intro again).

Interesting but I'd be wary of reading too much into it. At this stage no one knows who has won, even the finalists - they aren't told until shortly before the press/public sreeners of the final, which is the weekend before broadcast. So it's entirely possible that the person you mention is a finalist (although personally I can't see it based on the first two episodes).

An article in the Daily Mail today where
Spoiler
is slating the BBC for their portrayal, so might be a good guess that this person doesn't win.

Think that you should replace

with

there, as we know that a certain clip is coming up next week (while we don't know this for sure for the other clip; and if you look closely at that clip you will see a third person who may or may not be a candidate).

And yes, those three are the only ones not seen on a mixed team (not to be confused with week 1, as the new mixed teams have different members it seems).

Do we need to use spoiler code in this thread? It says "spoiler" in the thread title.

1. The teams will be split half-and-half, with half travelling across the Channel and half staying in Kent.

2. Geography clearly isn’t one candidate's strong suit, as they confess to not knowing where Dover is.

3. For the record, the nine items on the teams’ shopping list are: an inflatable boat at least 1.5 metres in length, 30kg of manure, a 4kg anchor, 10kg of mussels, 2 metres of Leavers lace, a Louis Philippe mirror, 100 snails, one whole Maroilles cheese and seven crystal champagne flutes.

4. In their quest to track down the lace, one candidate ends up talking to a Japanese college. How?!?

5. Inappropriate footwear by some of the girls?

6. "Now that is genuine bullshit."

7. LOTS of personal rivalries/disagreements become apparent during this task. On both teams.

8. How many times can one sub-team visit the same shop?

9. One team takes a big gamble on a controversial purchase that bends the rules of the task - but will it fare better than Felipe and his paper skeleton from last year?

10 One candidate refers to another as ‘a morale vacuum’. Ouch.
