Windows 10 for PC had major issues with the store, mail app and other 'key' apps that were all fixed on the final update, which was rather late in the day.

I am sure it will be fine.

I've got Windows 10 on my 930 and I have experienced similar problems. I even managed to brick my 1520, which is annoying although I wasn't really using it.
How many phones do you have?

I love the look of the 950XL.

I might buy when it gets a bit cheaper it even though I may never use it.

I never used the store on my "main" windows laptop during the developer preview.

Didn't particularly mind the initial build of W10M making my 1020 unusable - it put the blighter into flight mode when there was no flight mode. Took a while to roll back to WP8.1.

I love the look of continuum, but it would be of no use to me. But I'm wanting to go to a smaller device now, the L1020 size is about right for me (which is about the same size as the Xperia Z3 and Z5).

I'm just not convinced by the changes made to W10M, it just doesn't feel as good as W10 does on the desktop. the interface makes sense when you swap between desktop and mobile mode via continuum, just not as good as before in a purely mobile environment.
W10M previews have lacked the polish of WP8.1 but I believe the latest preview build when released will be at that level according to reports..

Could take a while. I've probably got over 100 devices at home, although they do go back a few years.

For Windows Phone I also have the 1020 (O2 64GB), 925, 800 (it broke due to charging issue) and the HTC HD7.

Latest preview build (10549, released in the last day) requires rolling back to 8.1. That'll take quite a while, and from the release notes it doesn't look like it sorts out that much.

The biggest improvements are with the performance of the OS , especially visible with older models. I have installed it on my old L920, and it is much faster and smoother. It is also quicker from switching it on/off, but it's still not there yet.

And it takes a bit to install it, yes. My 920 rolled back to 8.1 cyan, updated to denim, installed the windows insider preview app and only then updated to 10549. If people are not that keen in doing all this, they can always wait for the next update , which shouldn't be that far out anyway.

I'm waiting. Far too much of a faff to roll back.

**** me! And there was me thinking having 6 device littered over the house was too many!

On a serious note, I understand most of them will come as a result of your job, though I would dread to see your lecky bills if you had them all going at once!!

I think you'll find that contravenes the forum rules!!! Hahahahaha
I feel there is a reason Jon has a lot of handsets lying around.
I'll let you work it out. You may have to do a bit of searching on the forum......

im borrowing a lumia 830 at the moment. Have to say its a gorgeous operating system, so smooth and easy. The trouble is the apps though. Most of the ones ive got on my android phones ive found on there or something similar but they dont seem to integerate with the phone.

For example there doesnt seem to be an official wikipedia app but ive downloaded a 3rd party one that is fine on its own but on my android phones if i click a wiki link from google search it opens the wiki app. On windows it just goes to the wiki mobile site. The same with a few other apps, no option to open a streaming video with my player of choice etc....

Having said that the only apps id seriously miss are chrome, (but id only need that cos its easy to sync my bookmarks across devices), the range of sky apps and bt sport app. Everything else on my phone i seem to have got a replacement for.

Im not due to upgrade until next month so ill have to decide if the ease of use and the sheer gorgeousness of the OS will be enough to overcome any potential app issues.

Microsoft phone sales fell 54% in the last few months. Perhaps down to lack of compelling devices but Microsoft have only got themselves to blame as they had a mobile operating system long before Google and Apple.

Saw leaked photos of another new phone, using Snapdragon 200 (or 201 whatever) and it's just as anonymous as the other phones. Most people can't tell the difference as they always look the same.

Not particularly surprising, with no flagships since the 930.

The 950 still has some "Nokia" design into it. But they come with Windows Hello and Continuum, this--->>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f34PJhto92Q

And that's cool.

Continuum is cool, and I assume it's a lot better than when Motorola did it four years ago, but with the drop in sales that's a major mountain to climb now!

This is it, this is Microsofts last chance to get it right and to be honest I don't think they will. They have some cool new ideas in W10 but they haven't got the following to make it a success.
