Orange Billing ??
hi got a query, see if anyone can assist ..
Bought a mobile phone in april and signed up to a Orange YP / talk 300, with 300 mins free [ giving 600 minutes ] only to realise that some one had .. cut the billing date short and therefore ihad lost significant inclusive minutes, about 8 days worth; instead of getting 600 minutes, i got 430 minutes .. However, i wasnt informed of this fact by either the retailer or orange, and thus have sufferered a big bill .. whos to blame and who can i complain to .. After speaking to the Orange, they are telling me its the retailers problem, they should have made me aware of the situation. At the end of the day, i signed up for 600 minutes, and i should have got that (for the first month) and if the retailer fails to inform me then its not my problem (well it is, as im lumbered with a big bill to pay !) Anyone come across this before and can provide assistance ? many thanks |

Orange did this to me when i added a contract onto an existing account, and so I only got pro-rata minutes for the first month. I complained to orange saying I was not informed of this ( I had only racked up about £5 worth of calls though), and they agreed I should have been, and credited me the money on my next bill.

i dont know why we do it (but you should have been informed) but the system at point of connection defaults a billing date which we cant change....so if you joined on the 10 and your billing dat was the 12, you would onlyget the mins from the 10th to the 12th, then you pay for the following month in advance aswell, so on the your would get your full allowence of mins.....to be honest not much orange can do...the above poster must have been credited as a good will, but as i said not much we can do

Orange need to get their billing system modernised. I mean they must be the only big company in the country that won't let you choose the day your direct debit is taken. How hard can it be!

i totally agree, its always got to be 20days after billing date which its pathetic (no wonder Orange have vast numbers of customers defaulting), you should see our system called CSS....its really basic, and DOS based and if you call between midnight and 12.30, the system crashes as everyones account has been updated

Orange have messed up my bill - they requested the direct debit two days after it was due (dont ask me why and how - thats what the orange man said) so my bill became overdrawn. Untill i paid it they suspended online access to my account.

The 15th of April - Orange said the payment was requested on the 17th.
I think I understood correctly - the woman said "the payment was due on the 15th and was requested on the 17th." I don't know why. I had to pay it with my card, cancel the direct debit and now I need to set one up again. |

My orange bill is paid by direct debit on the 21st of each month.. if the 21st falls on the weekend or Monday, the direct debit is always shown on the mini statement as been taking out on a working day of the week before the 21st. I'd rather be able to cancel my direct debit and pay Orange by switch over the phone or by paying it in the shop... Can I manage do this ??

you can do that yes, however if you cancel the DD you will get a none DD charged applied to your account of £3, but if you pay your bill in an orange retail store the fee is waived
