TP Link WR702N Advice
Hi,
I've got a Humax T1000 Youview box. I'd like to run it wirelessly (which I know is not supported by YouView) using a TP Link WR702N . The issue I have is that I can not follow guides that I've found online. So far I have tried twice. The first attempt I put the TP Link into Client mode and then as neither my Macbook or Windows 8 surface have ethernet ports I was unable to connect once in Client Mode to in order to set the AP and security key. So I reset the TP Link and set up in Bridge Mode. This had some success. The YouView box said it was connected and I was able to remove my iphone and then reconnect it which confirmed the network was working. However I wasn't able to access any of the Apps. I tested the TP access point by connecting to it from my laptop, Google worked fine, but whenever I tried any other website the url bar went into a loop and the browser on my laptop brought up a loop error. for example I've type bbc.co.uk and it would try to load bbc.co.uk/bbc.co.uk/bbc.co.uk etc etc. I'm not sure what went wrong with the bridge mode? Maybe the TP Link unit and Homehub 4 are too close? Only about 3 meters?? Both are on the same wifi channel as suggested, is that really correct?? Is Client Mode more stable than Bridge Mode? Has anyone else experienced similar? I'd welcome any advice, Thanks Louis |
