Is this the thread when I tell you about a man I once knew who had a tattoo that sometimes said, 'Super' and sometimes said, 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious', depending on circumstances?

Do you still have his number?

jay's tattoos are particularly poor. It looks like someone's used a biro on him!

A lot of tattoo artists genuinely believe that they are talented.

Personally I don't like tattoos but if people want to disfigure their bodies, then that's up to them. However, I wonder what some of them will look like when their skin starts to sag and they get all wrinkled. It reminds me of the old ludo joke which older people may remember but its a bit rude to put it on here.
I can't wait to be a blurry old lady! Old skin isn't very pretty by accepted beauty standards anyway, so I have no qualms about having blurry, blue bingo wings, as opposed to garden variety bingo wings. Aging is still just a process, nothing to be scared of (my first tattoo turns 18 next week! I turn 39 the week after), regardless of how many tattoos you have/don't have.

...................................................................

The diamond in my user name refers to the diamond tattoo on my throat - If we were in drawing a venn diagram of extensively tattooed (I don't use the term 'heavily', it sounds like a burden) people and strictly fans, I'd occupy the overlap.
Every year there is a thread about tattoos on dancers/season competitors, and every year the thread is more or less the same, much to my bemusement. I don't doubt that some of you would be horrified by me in real life. if you don't have any pearls to clutch, I will happily lend you some of mine - I'm not nearly as scary as you might think!

More and more people of all professions and backgrounds are getting large, easily visible tattoos, so of course they are going to pop up more and more on programmes like strictly. Ultimately they are neither here nor there, as they don't seem to be a deciding factor in voters choices (if anyone would like to do the statistics, I'd be delighted).

Good luck to you. You obviously love your tattoos and its your body to do with what you wish. Its not something that I would like but I certainly wouldn't find you scary. Now there is an oldish woman in my town whose face is full of piercings which are now sagging. I don't think she has much space left on her face and I wonder why she would want to do that to herself.

The best thing about the Mail article is not that in the picture the etiquette expert looks like the human version of the Ken doll, neither is his patronising tone.

If you scroll down there will be a video on "tips for holding a teacup".

I nearly p*ss*d myself laughing!

Tatts don't bother me on younger people . They can be interesting and even enhance a body. But seeing them on older flabby people brings out my tatt-snobbery . Sorry etc .
do you know what else is unattractive on old flabby people? everything.

Oh here we go, the tattoo snobs will be out in droves.
I'll fess up... I loathe them, guess that makes me a tatoo snob.

(mind you, I've been called a snob but not of the tatoo variety)

Really Pearls...I confess, I don't compute the two, but hey that's my ignorance/preconceived ideas.

How can you be so sure? From the minority you know of who say they do?

Like a genie and a lamp

I've popped in and out with the odd post but still don't have a telly, and this year I'm well behind via catch up TV too - so my comments and thoughts have been literally a week late - no point in posting! Hope you are well too - I'm hoping I'll be around more as the season progresses. From an ability potential point of view, I'm liking this year's line up, although am only passingly familiar with many, and haven't heard of a few at all. I only watch for the dancing/costumes/camp mind you, so not knowing who these people ARE isn't much of a problem at all

(Gleb's squat Charleston demo on ITT was absolutely awful though, tee-hee!)

There weren't so many people with tattoos when I was young, especially women. There weren't any tattoo parlours either.

I hate them!

They do, it's true, but in my experience, people usually regret the tattoo they got (due to it being badly done, or not properly thought through) rather than the fact they got a tattoo. It's a small distinction, and quite a philosophical one, but quite interesting, nonetheless.

I like shiny things, and vintage. Pearls are great, diamante brooches even better. I'm quite conservative (small c) with hemlines, I don't entertain the idea of a skirt above the knee, or tight jeans, I wouldn't wear a dress without a slip and all underwear should definitely come up to the belly button. Preferably, with just an inch or two between the waist line and a long line bra

This might seem like a strange juxtaposition, but most humans are a mass of contradictions in one way or another - it's what makes us fascinating. My dress sense is somewhere between "technicolour Princess Margaret" and "punk rock Miss Marple". Which reminds me, I need to wash my hair, as I'm going out tomorrow night and a foam roller set takes hours to dry

I couldn't even look at Ewan. His tats were so distracting in a creepy sort of way.
