If it is not buffering no, it's unlikely to be an external problem.

See if you get the same results sitting right in front of the box. Perhaps the line-of-sight is a little blocked from the remote.

Try uninstalling the BBC iPlayer, and then reinstalling it. If that fails to make a difference, try a full factory reset.

well I've considered a reset , but its always a bit scary , what's uninstalling ?

it's so weird because when I press the remote I can see the little green eye flicker , but then . . . well you know the rest .

I had the White box for a fortnight and found the iPlayer app was very laggy compared to other apps. I've now got a black box and it is a noticeably faster and smoother experience in all departments than the White box.

I've noticed people dismiss the black box because it only adds native 1080p output and that the services are still 720p. The black box is significantly more powerful when it comes to browsing through apps without the lagging and stuttering of which the White box is riddled with. Also app load times are 4 - 5 times faster.

Code:
720p
1080p

256mb
512mb

BCM7208 405 MHz (April 2012)
BCM11130 900 MHz (April 2015)
The Black Box also has better wifi support (dual-band) plus an Ethernet connection.
