That might be tagged on to the end of the series finale. I can picture the scene - River turns up, in the doorway, say a little 'hello sweetie'. The doctor replies 'but I'm floating in space, how did you even get here? to which River says the other inevitable line 'spoilers'
Either that or maybe Capaldi could see her somewhere unexpected or doing something totally unexpected and channel Tennant with the classic what? what? what?!

remember Moffat planed River from the beginning he knew she was a Time Lady and that she can be restored but the Doctor didn't know she was a Time Lady when he saved her in the Library
