cortaflex for dogs
casio
10-10-2015
I have a 12 year old gsd who has been on metacam for three years but lately it doesnt seem to be helping her at all;. I have been told about cortaflex capsules and was wondering if anyone had tried them. also I have started her on joint sticks so see if that will help her.
I did read that metacam did cause problems so I have stopped giving it to her.

I think it is wise to be wary of the Metacam. Have you checked liver and kidney function since being on it? That said - it's a risk v benefit calculation.

I'm only familar with the Cosequin.brand
Here is a run down of joint products

I note cod liver oil is on the list. However I have usually seen it advised against.

Cortflex seems to get good reviews on Amazon. I generally check out products there before making decisions!

Cortaflex seems to be pretty popular, but have you seen this? Made by the same company, but especially for dogs:

Or there's Yumove and Yumove Advance, also thought to be very effective:

Better for your dog than long term Metacam which can cause kidney and liver damage.

I got in touch with the people who supply the cortafen and they have discontinued with the product but they told me that cortaflex is good so I am hoping now that will help my Trixie who at the moment is suffering. I expect to receive the capsules tomorrow.
I will let everyone know who she is progressing .
