That would be the only way we would get a male voted out first ! lol

Simon was evicted first this year. I know he returned, but the number of evictions still counted after his. After Adjoa's and the HMs who were evicted during the 4 in, 4 out twist, there would have then been six evictions and IIRC, the next eviction was named by Emma as the seventh.

- All female line up
- Ejecting Emily
- The whole tedious Chanelle/Ziggy 'storyline' taking up huge chunks of the highlights
- The fake eviction
- Halfway house (or whatever it was called) and the entire swapping back and forth until producers were happy with those up for eviction
- The producers pushing Brian to win (such as letting him know about the fake housemate, giving him tasks to win cigarettes etc.)

Also, drip feeding the housemates in little by little made for a really messy series. The dynamics of the house couldn't get going because others would be thrown in before the housemates could settle. Ziggy then Seany and Gerry, then the other four boys, then the five others towards the end... it was too much.

As for the housemates themselves, I'm not sure what I make of this cast... They do have some gems but a lot of them are pointless, and those 'gems' I talked about are pretty marmite...

I wouldn't say the series is bad, and if we had someone in charge who knew what they were doing, we'd have had a much better series as the cast was able to pull it off for the most part. We started to see the producers messing up and having no real idea of what they were doing at the middle/end of BB7, and they definitely picked up from where they left off in BB8 and I think that shows. The housemates can only do so much...

He wasnt voted out by the public though, only left because of a twist so still a male has never been VOTED out first in the normal series

For me the whole series was reliant on Charley for entertainment and I basically checked out following her eviction.

Been watching some of it back and it's not that bad. Some good housemates like Chanelle, Charley, Brian and Samanda and the tasks are quite good. The launch night twist isn't well executed and Carole is insufferable. But I think its underrated in it's defence. What are peoples opinions on it?”

Awful awful series! The all female launch was dire, Ma Baker sucked the life out of the entire series, & all the guys had their balls chopped off by her!

My highlight was the piss take Alan Carr used to do on Friday/Sunday night project of BB8 and it showed Him dressed as Shanessa with a mayonnaise cocktail in front of him (this was actually a task in BB8) complaining he hated mayonaise and then BB said "Shanessa, that's not mayonaise its spunk" and Alan went "mmmm!" and guzzled it all down LOL

I quite enjoyed it! Many complained about it being boring, but compared to most C5 series these days, it was gold. There was much less knowing public perception, which sent them into a spin, satisfyingly.

Chantelle & Ziiggy, and just Chantelle in general; ruined it for me. Once she left, I enjoyed it so much more.

Gerry's 'don't trust her' thing upon his eviction was pathetic, too. I wasn't a huge fan of him on the show, and positively loathed him at that point, but I like him more now he's fabulous on social media. I'll always love how Brian was open with Tracey about what Gerry had said, good man!

Yeah, my highlight was Tracey, what a queen! Favourite HM ever, still, by far, much to the disagreement of General DS

Oh god I almost forgot Shanessa, poor woman looked a damn fool and is literally known best for giving a super dodgy lap dance with her rather saggy boobs.

No, I don't think BB8 was that bad at all.

For one, I was one of the very few people who thought the all female line up on Day 1 was a great idea - it gave the first week a very different feel and went back to the "social experiment" vibe of the very early BB's. Plus they still added male housemates, so I don't see why people are so up in arms about that twist.
The show was too long, but then so was BB7, 9 and 10. All four of the 13 week seasons dragged in places (9 and 10 less so IMO), yet 8 always seems to get the most criticism for that. And yes there were way too many twists and new housemates, but then the same thing can be said for BB7.

Personally, I've never understood why BB7 is loved so much on here whilst BB8 is so reviled as I actually thought they were very similar. Both had a house next door twist, both were dominated by housemates who left in Week 8 (Nikki and Charley), both became tedious after a while and felt far too long. BB8 did have Carole, which is of course was a massive detraction, but it really wasn't that bad a series imo.

It's the standard reply when dissing BB8 to mention Carole but if you ask casual viewers about the show they will talk about Brian, Charley, Chiggy & the Psychopathic twins.

No-one really remembers Carole other than posters on forums.

True. I'd argue the few people outside of this forum who do remember her would probably quite like her. She did survive a lot of evictions after all.

Wasn't the biggest Carole fan (the infamous foot thing, eeeeewwwwwww!) but I did feel sorry for her, because of the hate she got on the Internet. I don't think it was all justified? She did a lot of good in that house, where lazy others did not. She was just too domineering over things like shopping list, which aided her downfall.

But she wa easier to watch, and love to hate, than say Chanelle, who's constant whining got on my nerves.

Same here. I thought neither of them was a patch on BB5 and BB6 though.

She was a vindictive manipulative old hag! She ruled them all with a rod of iron, & woe betide anyone who dared stand up to her. She would do her usual 'voice quivering', dabbing her tearless eyes, & manipulate the situation to her benefit or just walk away, ending the discussion.
She made the other HM's clean the house to her satisfaction, make their beds etc etc, while she followed them around to make sure it was done to her satisfaction.
(Considering the state of her own house she had a bloody nerve)!

She made sure she spent the biggest proportion of the budget on her organic veggies while making sure the other hapless spineless HM's had all the basic brands (of her choice), which she guarded like a rabid dog!
Who can forget the grey mince she constantly served up to them, the vegetables boiled until all the colour (never mind the goodness), was boiled out of them!
They only ate when she decided they could, most nights not having their main meal until well after 10-00pm!

She was a vindictive old crone who sucked the life out of that series!

It really wasn't that bad imo. It had quite a good cast overall. I even liked the 5 late entrants they stuck in 4 weeks before the end. The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that I disagreed with almost every eviction result.

Carole was awful but in retrospect I find her to be something of an unintentionally hilarious and unconventional villain. The public are to blame for her because they saved her 3 times and voted out everyone she disliked, which allowed her to take control of the house to the extent she did. I'd quite like to see her on BBUSA.

The all female start was a good idea imo. The male housemates that year weren't that great.

Yep none of the casual fans would remember Carole from that series. Charley, Samanda and Brian are probably the main 3 still in casual fans memories and Chanelle too but like Imogen I think she is almost more known for just being a Z-lister and people don't always make the BB connection.

She was saved 3 times purely because she had really good edits. None of her controlling nasty behaviour ever made the HL shows!

I mainly watched HL's that year, and I definitely got the controlling nasty vibes.

What seemed to save her were other housemates excusing her behaviour, and saying how they felt she "deserved" to get to the final.

The HL shows showed a completely different person, she came across (almost), as some sort of kindly jolly older woman. Truth was she was a nasty harridan who manipulated the rest of the HM's, was really nasty & vindictive towards most of the younger female HM's & ruled with a rod of iron!
I don't know what sob story she gave the HM's but almost every one of them all claimed she 'deserved' to win!

This is the kindly caring person who when she was told her son had been sectioned, decided to continue with her stay in the house, because she said, ''she had waited years to get into the house''!

The all-female launch was a disaster, and Carole ruined the entire series with her constant moaning and passive-aggressive bullying. She had the boys wrapped around her little finger and was vile to the girls. All the energy was sucked out of the house.

It was a dreadful series.
