This is a non-thread really. As others have written, he is one of the best known celebs so to keep people watching they save him until late in the show. Also as others have written he is not the only celeb enjoying such placings.

I'm not a fan of him and consider he's not doing well, which I place at Janette's door, but do we really need another "attack Peter" thread?

Exactly, as I have already said, the star of the show always tops the bill at the end.

Which is why Jay topped the bill last Saturday, performing the greatest jive ever seen in the history of the show.

It's quite refreshing what with a half of the forum being about "Jay has a previous dance experience" The producers want the show to end on a high. It used to be Peter, now Jay snatched that place from him.

After another week or two of public voting, that factor will come into play too. In other words, for the first few weeks the perceived 'banker' contestant will be likely to get a later slot. Once the public's preferences become clearer they will also get later slots. Widdy was regularly getting slots at the end of the show during her run iirc.

Actually, that doesnt need to be the case. I remember that Harry Judd consistently was nearer the beginning and Jason Donovan nearer the end yet Jason was third and Harry won. I think it is the one that fills the more column inches, will get the later spot regardless of real popularity with Strictly voters.
I actually believe the "pimp" isnt as essential as with x Factor. However 2nd and 3rd slots are still bad on Strictly.
Monkseal could correct me, as he has all the statistics.

He is also last in the credit sequence. Why ? I think his management (who we know from recent events are tough nuts) insisted on favourable draws and dance styles in the early weeks in order to eliminate the chance of an early exit. I've noticed this in previous years with other "seeded" entrants.

Do people get paid to start these boring posts?

QUOTE=I've Got Class;79953681]I don't see anyone complaining about Anita and Gleb?

Week One: 6/6
Week Two: 11/15
Week Three: 13/14

compared to Peter and Janette:

Week One: 9/9
Week Two: 14/15
Week Three: 10/14[/quote]

And are they given these sort of statistics?.................... Which I have no idea what they mean!...................

It would have needed someone with an indestructible ego to follow Jay's jive without feeling like a big anti-climax. Tess would've made a well-intentioned mess of saying pretty much, "how d'you follow that!" etc, etc and by the end of the show it would have felt slightly lop-sided.

After the impact that Jay's jive had last week, I would be majorly surprised if he wasn't on last, as most people will be curious how he will follow on from that. Of course, there is a small chance that he is terrible at the quickstep, and if that transpires he probably won't close the show, but regardless, he will be on towards the end.

Then again, certain quarters would probably loudly complain if Peter opened the show, too. ”

Equally ,you usually put someone pretty good, or very watchable, on first - so people don't turn over straight away. and you put the best of the week, or someone really good , or entertaining, on last or nearly so , so people come back next week. You don't want to end on a low. Jay, Peter, Anita, Helen and Kellie are going to spend a lot of time in the last few slots0 this series.

I think Anita for the last slot having seen her jump thing in the background today of the behind the scenes vid.

Like others have said Jay will be near to last to keep any new punters who saw his jive online or read about it and are tuning in just for him.

Donovan was the actor (though I have seen less wooden trees) and entertainer though, and , is deemed to be popular by the people who use him on muscial theatre tours. Harry was the eye candy and a decent looking dancer . Perhaps they were keping the entertainer till late.

Only started to watch this episode now so not seen who has gone on already, but I am guessing Andre hasn't yet and is on within the last 3 again ? Just a stab in the dark guess.

PA being on near the end has nothing to do with him

https://twitter.com/the_jamesjordan/...60854666797057

its the BBC producers who want the viewers to stay tuned so no need for the PA vitriol...

Why don't they just spin a wheel to decide who goes in what order before the show ?
