It has a nice quick beat going through, I think it can work and if they leave any stuttering in she can use it for a breather or some nice idiosyncrasy

They got tons of stick over their "Psycho Killer' Halloween Tango (IIRC) due to excessive theatrical faffing, but it WAS Halloween (and the first time I really thought I saw any real fire in Harry, possibly due to a song he knew and could relate to, possibly due to the freedom to let loose that Halloween outfits give - the one redeeming feature of this particular theme week, imo).
Aliona did faffing with Matt because he rarely had time to learn the whole dance due to work commitments, or at least, that's the rumour. I don't doubt that they would have won that year if he had more time to learn. It was Series 8 of course - where the Producer introduced props, etc. as something they wanted to see used. IMO, The actual dance content was high in the CCC, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Charleston, VW, Rumba, Tango, Samba, and Paso Doble. The ones where it wasn't so high were the AT, Jive, Salsa and arguably the AS where they just did the required amount of the Foxtrot |

Basically I think Aliona has had a lot of mud thrown at her choreography over the years but I think she's one of the best pros at delivering complex routines for talented celebs. It's going to be fun seeing what she manages to deliver for Jay over the next few weeks

Regarding that tango. I remember Karen Hardy criticised it very very much, but towards the end of the series Karen said that Aliona had been right to do that because as like you others saw the fire in him as well as honed in the technique in small steps.
Great music from the band too - it will probably be the dance his children show to their friends at school. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aafV0V2n97k |

And I think all of those dances from Matt were examples of limited training time - except the AS which I think was just Aliona being flouncy and contemporary

How many hours did you have to train for the Jive, was it really only 4 hours? Of course it wasn’t, I don’t know where it came from. Maybe because of all the travel and Matt’s work 4 hours a day some days yes, but other wise we worked our selves to death as always taken from a Q&A on Aliona's fansite |

![]() I know FB views are massively inflated as they autoplay but remember people will watch from there now and not even go to YouTube so they should be taken into account. |

YT SCD videos are now restricted to UK, so FB videos are now where the rest of the world can (still) watch.

I suspect that Aliona could have extended the in hold part a few more bars and still have got the performance from Harry, but it did mean that his legacy also included the ability to perform, because he acted that role very well.
Great music from the band too - it will probably be the dance his children show to their friends at school. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aafV0V2n97k And of course, 2 weeks after that, his AT, when he looked like a winner. I'm glad Aliona got Jay, she's more than capable of really teaching him AND playing a long game for the TV audience. I really have very high expectations. |

Right now I don't give a stuff what Aliona has done in the past (some of which has caused me to spit like a witch's cat with bad manners).
Thus far, she's playing a blinder with Jay and long may it continue... This opinion may change... |
