Fabulous. It's certainly the best jive ever from a male celeb.
I agree. I loved Darren and Jill Halfpenny but this was even better.

Thought it was great. I didn't know he was a trained dancer.

I think he has it won already.

A-MAZ-ING Darling.... Darcy wanted to give a ten why didn't she .... because it's week three ... practice what you preach Darcy and lose you inhibitions.

That jive had me captivated from the get-go, amazing use of the two styles of music in that song, amazing choreography and Jay is so unassuming and looked bemused in Clauds pit.

Best Jive ever on SCD

I don't agree, it was just stunning, especially after so many disappointing performances this evening.
Hmmm...maybe that's the reason for the OTT reaction.

James Jordan is a bitter jealous idiot.

It was very, very good. Best dance on Strictly for a long time, and the best thing is that he really has no idea how good he is.

This jive is up there with the best for me

Louisa and Vincent
Gethin and Camilla
Austin and Erin
and this one......

agree about the "loose arm"

I cant wait to see how Jay improves- he seems to be improving exponentially

I don't get all this OTT reaction to Jay's jive. It was good in places, but he also looked awkward at times. Definitely not worth a 10 in my opinion.
Given the scene it was referencing, I thought the 'awkward' off kilter look was intentional characterisation (or very clever choreography from Aliona)

Jay was great!

Aliona must be so relieved to have her first contender since she won with Harry off of McFly.

That was the best jive I've seen in the whole of SCD incredible
It certainly was - and why he didn't score 40 is beyond me!!!!

It was amazing. I sat there in amazement - wonderful choreography and faultless dancing!!!!

Fabulous. It's certainly the best jive ever from a male celeb.
My thoughts exactly.

Yes, he's had dance training but so what? It's established now that a handful of celebs each year will have been to stage school, done ballet, danced before etc. The mix of standards is one of the things that makes Strictly interesting for me. I like knowing there'll be the odd diamond amongst the dross. If all there was for the whole three months was Carol Kirkwoods (lovely person though she is) and Kirsty Gallaghers improving incrementally through a series of turgid error-strewn dances I wouldn't bother watching.

That's how I feel, first thing he said to Aliona sounded like "was that OK?" I love how humble he is

I loved it! But still think there could have been another ten. Not sure what the deduction was for? Anyone know? Or are they just playing it safe to ensure he isn't too successful early on?

Agree ref James, and previous experience didn't seem to matter to him when he was partenered with Denise Van Ringah 😉

Dance training or not, that was phenomenal. Hate the fact that some judges won't give a higher score just because it's week three. Good on Bruno for not giving a crap!!! No overreactions for me, that deserved all the praise it got.

Aliona is so underrated, I feel. She's my favourite pro by a long way, and I'm loving her with Jay. And I'm loving how oblivious Jay is to how good he really is.

I have no worries about him getting such a high score so early on. He deserved it. I'm struggling to see him dropping from this level he's at now. He is THAT good.

That brilliant jive awoke me from my Strictly coma. It was seriously good. I was whooping, cheering and generally embarrassing my 10 year old daughter. Stunning and sooooooooo cool. LOVED it and love him because he was generally in shock at the reaction (loved his mum's reaction too). Go on my son!! And well done Aliona for some great choreography.

Love the power he has, he really leads Aliona which is so fab to watch from a male celeb. He doesn't do anything for me physically but when he has such command over his partner it's quite hot !
