If you feel you have to punish the celebs with dancing experience by not voting for them, please, do so. Yes, it's unfair to those like Anthony or Iwan who started with no experience at all and did not get a chance to improve, but OTOH BBC want the programme to be entertaining from the beginning and it would not happen if all dances were mediocre at best.

You can tell that Len is fed up with all the faffing around, props and bar a few, very little in the way of proper dance steps and actual time dancing together in hold.
The whole of SCD has deteriorated so badly and perhaps subtly over the last few seasons, it would be an eye opener to watch earlier ones when props were not de rigueur. Anyway, what were we doing with a themed evening so early in this series? And in the main (a few exceptions, granted) the chosen music is dire and out of character with the dances. The Rumba is nonsensical but the Paso and Cha, Cha Cha are going the same way. Time for the axe I feel. With Aliona, they have a pro who competed in 10 dance, worked at teaching dance from a young age, studied costume design and art, and just happens to be good at choreography and generating chemistry. The full package for the Classic style of Strictly while keeping it fresh. So yes he is a ringer, but he has been paired with a pro who is VERY good at the Strictly job. Aliona also showed what she can do with a beginner like Harry and his parents acknowledged how amazing Harry's progress had been. @ 9:05 in this.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GFrbl_AGko |

Unfortunately it looks like one of the side effects of the recent BBC charter review has been that they've had to clamp down on region locking the Youtube content (to domestic countries covered by a licence fee) and impose content blocking on other countries.
Feel free to blame the government ![]() ![]() (I genuinely wish the BBC was allowed to sell iplayer in the same way as netflix - month subscription to overseas folk - that should fix some of their money issues...) |

I'm going to sound like a nut now, but I honestly think there is something about the way it builds that is weirdly addictive. It starts quiet, gets good, gets very good and then suddenly goes into a bit that makes make me feel 'I've got to see that again.' Weird - goes off to watch it again...

Only just noticed, during the eye bit just before Misirlou, Jay flicks a Victory sign at Aliona (not that I've watched it a lot to notice stuff like this )

Nope, get it completely, it's structured beautifully, the cool, disinterested beginning, gradually building until WHAM as Misirlou slams in, culminating in the stunning side by side bit.

I am not surprised, it was one of the beat dances ever on SCD, hope Jay wins, with Linda Carter to come second. 😁

I think FB videos automatically play on your timeline unless you have the function disabled (or at least this used to be the case) - for saying that though I would think Jays jive would still have a massive amount of views even without the automatic playback. I *think* YT is a much more realistic viewing figure though.
With Youtube Likes are equally as important. Anyone who has an account can only like once, yet you can view it many times. So the conversion rate between how many views it takes to get a like is also very interesting, qualifies the views. Quote:

They play automatically on my iPad as I haven't changed the settings but not on my phone as I DID change the setting (uses extra phone data apparently) - Not sure whether desktop computers have automatic playback.

Closing in rapidly on 300,000 on youtube
3,072 likes (100 views per likes, after Anita's 94 views per like but she has 18,078 views) 37 dislikes (which is the lowest % at 0.01% of viewers dislike it, compared to the highest that are Carol and Anthony with 0.21 %). |

Excuse my ignorance, but I only use Facebook to save my Candy Crush Saga progress, how do I find that video?
All searches are coming back empty.

It's additively memorising I think hence the number of views/likes. |
