That's amazing. After all the criticism I've heard of concerning Facebook,I'm surprized people are still using it.

Ive watched it many times on you tube but thought I would watch it on catch up to see what the judges said again and the marks.

What struck me was how happy everyone was for Jay when he went up to the Clauditorium and when they got those marks everyone was jumping up and down especially Jamelia which I thought was lovely. I know they always clap but this was full on.

No, you are absolutely right, once you watch it, you have to see it again, it's like a drug...I watched it 3 times in a row on FB yesterday...I think the thing about it is - it's fast and hypnotising...then the music changes and gets faster still and you find yourself just drawn in.

It's additively memorising I think hence the number of views/likes.
My name is Ivan and I have a Jay McGuiness Jive addiction. And I am glad I am not the only one I may have rewound it a few times when watching it on Saturday and it never stays only by one play if I watch it now.

Nope, get it completely, it's structured beautifully, the cool, disinterested beginning, gradually building until WHAM as Misirlou slams in, culminating in the stunning side by side bit.

Only just noticed, during the eye bit just before Misirlou, Jay flicks a Victory sign at Aliona (not that I've watched it a lot to notice stuff like this )
Okay, now I have to go and watch it again to see this. What a chore!!! But I do take my responsibilities seriously...

ETA: well gosh darn it, I haven't seen it yet! Will have to keep watching!

Yes it was good, very good but the hype has an effect of creating more attention,
So views are disproportionate depending on how much hype is generated initially.

Totally true, specially in social media.
Still, it's a great dance to watch and watch again.

But people aren't complete sheep. You can create hype, but an attention wanes down if it does not deliver.

The danger with a knockout dance is that it raises expectations and if they aren't met the blowback can be a tad ugly

Yes, how do you top that is the question. But even if he went this week, he's written in the history of SCD with quite big letters already.

I'd watched it about 472 times before hype even started (or was aware of it). I didn't go to bed until 4.30am because of my addiction to watching it & I very, very rarely watch a Strictly dance more than once.

Jay wasn't that good in week one. He's progressing like all of them. Why should a journey only focus on the god awful dancers. I'm fascinated to see how great Jay can get under Aliona's tuition.

I think his journey is about getting his performance anxiety in check. Although when after the jive Tess said he was shaking it was probably adrenaline rather than nervousness. BTW a few times I thought he would pass out when he was with Claudia, she even asked him if he was alright
