THANK YOU. I really don't want this series to be ruined so early with a potentially very blatant favourite/winner.

Agree with the original poster.
The series ends in week 3, may as well just give him the trophy. Remember Jake Wood's salsa from last year which came in about week 2, that was his peak. Just looking forward to what he and Aliona do next. |

Was it actually that good and worth a 10 so early in the series? Yes, it most certainly was!

i think he IS that good, but as ever with strictly, its not necessarily enough. he is technically very skilled, but there's a somewhat sterile quality to a lot of his movement.
tonight i felt i saw glimmers of something more connected, more earthy, and if he can build on that and engage the audience through showmanship as well as talent, then he's a cert for the win. |

If Jay and Aliona had done that Jive post Blackpool it would have scored 40. Best Jive on SCD

If any celebs are getting favouritism its Peter, Anita, Kellie and Ainsley.
Ainsley was awful tonight but got decent comments and above others score wise. Peter was ok week 1 and 2 but again over marked and over marked again tonight. Kellie has been rubbish, to be frank, but high on scores every week. Her Charleston was decent but not with 32. Also if anyone else did what Anita did they'd be cut down in flames for having poor technique and not enough ballroom content, but she gets lots of praise and her highest score. Jay was deserving of his marks. |

Not at all. That may be his peak, you never know.

Remember Sophie's week 2 Charleston? Everyone said that was the best dance ever and she finished fourth. One great dance does not a winner make
I loved this jive - and he totally deserved the reception he got - but he still has room to improve in his performance. Unlike Jake and Sophie, I think he will just keep getting better and better. |

O yes they were. The only thing to improve is his performance - although he doesn't seem self conscious actually dancing he doesn't give good "performance face" can't think of the right words.
But a-maze-ing, I stood and clapped and shouted, not something I do often especially in my living room on my own ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If you don't think watching two top professionals in the jive is impressive, you wouldn't really take to that dance, no.

I find it quite weird that people are sugggesting it wasn't as good as that tbh....... |

HAHAHAHA looks like I'm outnumbered on this one!!!
Not taking away from how good the dance was but they were going on like the sun shone out of Jay's arse!! Everyone stomping their feet and him looking like a deer lost in headlights .. Fair play to him. He's obviously WANTED. Lol ![]() ![]()

It was so much better than Kellie and Kevin .. like night and day. Let alone everyone else. Just fantastic!! My benchmark for male celeb jives was always Scott Maslen .. this one has knocked that right out of the park!!

Part of me thinks it was totally strategic putting Jay and Aliona on last. Is it purely coincidence they supposedly left the "best till' last"?
I wonder if he's the producers favourite? The studio went completely OTT. Not saying he was bad because he was very very good, but not THAT good. Certainly not worthy of a 10, in week 3. In my opinion. My faves in Movie Week: Kellie & Kevin, Daniel & Kristina, Anita & Gleb, and Helen & Aljaz. Was it actually that good and worth a 10 so early in the series? Utter rubbish. He got the applause he deserved. It was that good, and it was worth more than one ten. |

They were brilliant. Were they 37 brilliant? Not my call. But Bruno's given himself nowhere else to go.

Ah-may-zing but I don't like 10s being dished out so early.

I'm struggling to see why Jay being this good will ruin the series?! He's not stopping the other contestants from dancing well and improving? I'm delighted that we get to watch someone as good as him every week.

No, they weren't nearly as good as some of the judges seemed to think.
It was over-marked, over-rated and over-praised. One 9 and the rest 8s would have been appropriate marks. |
