Hi

I've got a Xperia Z3 at the moment. I was thinking of getting the Lanparte HHG01 gimbal to use with it, or maybe buy GoPro 4 silver to use with it instead;

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lanparte-Han...anparte+hhg-01

However DJI have just brought out this;

http://store.dji.com/product/osmo?fr...e_index_banner

I wanted opinions re what way to go;

Z3 and Lanparte
GoPro and Lanparte
DJI Osmo

The first option is cheapest
The second option would perhaps give better video than the Z3
The third option has more bells and whistles controls on the gimbal but is the most expensive. I'm not sure if video quality is as good as or better than the others

I'm not using for actioncaming, just visiting places, put them on FB.

Many thanks for any advise/suggestions.

Over £200 for what is a glorified selfie stick?

DJI Osmo looks promising, the fact it appears to have stabilisation even at 4K is bloody brilliant, even the GoPro devices don't manage it now (I think).

Looking around other tech sites, previews have rated it to be excellent, I don't know how it saves the video exactly, but that cam looks a cut above the rest.....It doesn't say whether the Osmo has a wide angle lens, the GoPro Hero 4 Black does, whether this important is down to you.

GoPro seemingly has this market to itself, the Osmo I suspect will change that. I would go for the more expensive option because of 4K stabilisation, when you upload your videos, they will put other action cams to shame.

I had been wanting to invest in a DSLR......but now this has caught my eye damn you!

Thanks for you reply. I'm not sure about the Osmo viewing angle, the only thing about GoPros I'm not keen on is the slight fisheye effect at wider angles, so perhaps that's no so much of an issue for me.

I think in the end for me, is the extra controls functions that much better than the Lanparte, and is the video quality THAT much better than the other 2 (if at all) to justify the the lot higher cost. I think the sensor is the same size on all 3. Certainly YES to the first, but just not sure re video. My head says go for it, my wallet says "nope".
