I do like the judges but they were in their heyday 3 decades ago? Even the traditinional dances have got new 'spins' on them and the new young pro dancers are getting criticised unfairly now? Or not? Times move on even in dance.

No way the judges are Strictly if they were replaced the show would not be the same.

there might be new trends in dance but basics do not change - tonight Georgia's lacked rumba content as did Katie's with cha and anita's had barely a step of vw in it

No, don't need new judges. A few Pro's tonight did poor routines with a lot of steps lacking, so need to be pulled up for it. Georgia danced well, but it wasn't a decent rumba. Anton's cha-cha was awful, I'm sure Katie could have managed a bit more of the basics if only he'd put them in !! Same with Natalie's, too much faffing with the silly penguin stuff.

I'm not sure how many more series Len has in him. Obviously replacing him as head judge will be tricky. The obvious candidate is Craig but he's the pantomime villain so I can see that happening. Would be weird for someone totally new to the show to come straight in as head judge. Karen Hardy could be a contender.

It was an American Smooth Viennese Waltz, which means that the majority of the routine should be made up of Viennese Waltz steps. The only difference between AS Viennese and International Viennese is that the former can include additional moves such as opening out from partner, dropping hold, etc.

The judging is sloppy , but some of the newcoming pros don't seem to have any idea what they are doing. Its art but without dance moves. its not Strictly Strike a Pose. Len is right there.

Their problem is that their judging is inconsistent between them , and between contestants. Giving 3 ,and 7 or 8 ,for the same dance is silly marking. Picking some people up on lack of dance content, but not others - commenting on some people's acting- but missing the total lack of any acting in something they gave 9s and 10s for - and commenting on hands for other people, but ignoring Jay's bizarre rubber ones, .is just random marking. They ended up crowning their intended winner in week 2, while giving 8s to other contestants they couldn't find fault with, or they found trivial faults with.

They also have the marking the choregraphy problem running again - which often reflects who got what music, and how well it fit the dance. . Some people are getting credit for trying something hard, others being penalised for weak work from their pro , some routines score for audience impact, others have great impact and get few marks. Too much is being decided by the choregraphy - more so with new pros with new ideas , and there's no guidelines, seemingly, in force on whats expected, or to share out the better music more fairly.

When Darcey gives good advice it's like gold dust. Her explanation to Anita regarding use of her arms was so clear and precise that it's something Anita can put to good use. I'm not always a Darcey fan but she seems to try and give positive feedback followed by an important piece of criticism where it will be useful. She rarely says anything negative and covers negative opinion by laughing along or offering some platitude. I appreciate her as a contrast to the others and liked and laughed when she hit Craig after the latter awarded Jeremy a 3!

From a purely personality point of view, I'd replace Bruno because I get sick of his antics. As far as I'm aware, he only exists as a tv dance judge with no current activities outside of that.
Any of the former professionals on the show could replace him really, though please God don't let it be James Jordan.

I know Len has a Dance Academy but I have no idea how much input he has in between his various tv commitments, but he's the only judge with a true ballroom background.
I could see him being replaced someday by Anton, though I'd hate it if Anton used the opportunity to gurn and quip in an attempt to build up some imagined future tv career.

Darcey is an absolute gem and I love the way she is always encouraging and any criticism she offers is constructive and goes alongside genuine tips and ideas on how the celebs could improve. I'd hate to see her go, but if she did, Karen Harding would be a great replacement.

But of all the judges, Craig is the most relevant as he still earns part of his living as a choreographer, so it's a shame he's been cast in the way he has, leaving him little room expand his function, but he's definitely the best candidate for Head Judge.

Yes please as len looks like he is on borrowed time and Darcey looks fixated on the boys, it shouldn't be that way at all. Rather than going for the tried and trusted option maybe controller of bbc one charlotte Moore and executive producer louise rainbow need to look at potential options instead. I'd keep Bruno and CRH as they critcize, but they do it diplomatically.

I think Anton Du Beke should replace Len when he retires. Len won't carry on for many more series and Anton is the oldest of the pros so probably won't carry on as a dancer for that much longer. Everybody knows Anton anyway and he's popular and has a good knowledge of dance so I think he'd be ideal as a replacement for Len.

I could do without Len but I like the other three. They all bring something different. Craig is the pantomime villain who says it like it is and gives the best critique IMO. Darcy tries to find a positive when someone has been slated by the others and I do appreciate that aspect. Bruno is the crazy one at the end who is a good bit of fun I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Anton or Karen added to the line up in replacement of Len but I'd like to keep the others.

Hell no he is the least knowledgeable judge and remembering his support for the dreadful Lisa Riley who went on to appear in his touring show he is the judge with the least integrity

The comments are something that need looking at. The judges seem to pinpoint one thing that the celeb needs to work on, then repeat what the first judge said in a different way.

I know they're going for that 'warm, cheery' feeling vibe for the show so need endless amounts of encouragement and 'funny' remarks, but they really ought to give more constructive criticism. It seems they say a lot, without saying anything at all.

I'd be incredibly frustrated as a celeb - the judges give them hardly anything to work with going forward, whilst marking them a 5.
