I just wanted to see the general consenus on here. I've seen people on twitter and other websites, saying how It was far too early for a 10 to be given out. Do you think Jay's jive was worth a 10?, or do you agree more with the other judge and a 9 was more applicable?Do you think 10s should be saved to show progression further into the competition?

If a dance is worthy of a 10 that's the score it should get whatever week it is. I suppose the issue is that nobody should really be at this level so early in the competition.

if a dance is worthy of a 10, then no - I think Jay and Alionas jive was worthy of a 10

I agree - a 10 should be given when a judge believes it's deserved - be that week 1 or the end, or not at all.

It's Bruno. He's a creature of "What Da FuQ?"

It's never too early for tens.

I'm guessing if this was DWTS America that lots of the viewing audience would be pumped for 10s at any stage such is there attitude to lap up good dancers and good routines.

If it's good enough, yes, reward it with a 10, whatever week. Praise something if it's good, don't begrudge someone praise just because it's early on.

The problem of the odd routine getting an undeserved 10 in the early weeks is nothing compared to the problem of the HOARDES of them getting them in the endgame.

If it's worth a ten, it's worth a ten.

Darcey's comment suggests she wanted to give a ten but 'as it's week three' she shouldn't.

Jays jive was worthy of 10s as I thought it was to a pro standard. Each dance needs to be marked on its merit regardless of the week in which it's performed

If it is worthy of a ten, no matter what week, it should be awarded.

Louisa also got a ten in week three, also for a jive, also from Bruno.

They shouldn't give 10's in week three but Jay shouldn't have danced that well in week 3 either.

No, if someone dances well enough then a dance deserves a perfect score whether it's week one or in the final.

Did Sophie and Brendan get a 10 for their Charleston or all 9s?
That was early October (week 2 I think)
Frankie and Kevin got a 'Donny 10' Movie week last year.

No, she didn't. I think she got 4 x 9s and you are right it was second week.

If it's worth a ten, it's worth a ten, regardless of the week. Also not getting the "Jay shouldn't be this good this early" comments. Again, it doesn't matter what week it is. He can't help it if he's that good this early.

That Jive had 10s all over it. I don't care if it's week 3, because pulling off something like that happens but rarely and would be an easy 40/40 in week 9 or summat. It's the Sophie's Charleston/Jake's Salsa of the series.

I'm convinced that both Darcey and Len and maybe even Craig would have 10d that jive in November or December. Conversely many of the 10s that, inevitably, will be splashed around later on wouldn't happen at this stage.

I understand why they do it but I would prefer more consistency.

If the performance is worth a ten then a ten should be given at whatever stage of the competition, the problem is the expectation becomes extremely high and there is nowhere to go to after that mark is given.

Not an ad hominem but that is just plain daft.

I don't care if it's week 1, week 3 or the final, if it deserves a 10 you give it a 10. Jay & Aliona deserved a 10.

I'd agree if he'd got the perfect 40 but he only got one 10, so there is somewhere to go.

Given the reluctance of 3 of the judges to use the paddles numbered 1 - 4 (to spare the delicate feelings of the celebs) and if you are going to give 4/5 to the worst dance AND when you still have fourteen people in the competition...you have to be prepared to give a 10 to the best dance on the night.

I see the scores as relative to what they are seeing in front of them each week...not on the basis of some hypothetical "best dance ever done by anyone in any competition at any time in history".

Rather than criticise the use of the 10 the real criticism should be the failure to use the lowest paddles.

Personally I would have given the first part a nine but, the second part was definitely worth a 10. I know it's only week three but, credit where it's due the second section of the dance would have got 10s in any week of the series.

its not too early for one. if anyone were to pick up 3 or 4 then it would clearly bring into question the suitability of them as a contestant, and they should probably be instantly employed as a pro in place of anton....

If it's worth a 10 it should get one but I think the other 3 judges were right last night although Darcey's rationale undermined her score. A couple shouldn't be awarded a 9 because week 3 is too early to award a 10. That would be unfair.
