Can we talk about Aliona's choreography ?
Sometimes I feel like she doesn't get enough credit for that. The choreography for that jive was outstanding; accenting every beat , full of character and so fitting to the music.
I am so glad that Claudia made sure to congratulate her for that choreography when they were waiting for the scores because I don't think the judges mentioned it. Well done Aliona ; looking forward to see what they will do next

Most of my memories of Aliona's choreo are of routines either boring or batshit crazy.
Never rated her work. Not that keen on that Jive and do we know if it's even all her own creation? |

She has always been amazing at choreography. Definitely deserves more credit.
She can produce those wow dances and then come out with something so beautifully understated as the Vienesse Waltz with Harry. She is just amazing. Can't wait to hear what Karen says on ITT |

I've always rated Aliona very highly. She's by far and away my favourite pro.

I don't understand how they had two different pieces of music to dance too . Surely they could have done the 90 sec to either .

The pro do their own choreography most of the times.

The ones where they get help are the charleston, Argentine Tango and salsa. Although Gleb choreographed his own charleston; a first for a strictly pro.

That combo has been done on DWTS too although with Misirlou first. Certainly created a buzz in the audience when they switched up tempo. |

Artem choreographed his own charlestons didn't he? |

Don't know. I'd have loved the whole thing to Misirlou, but I guess you never can tell is more jivey and the scene they were acting out.

Totally agree - today's was a triumph. She made the best use of the theme, the pacing was fab (I loved the transition between music), and she got the most she possibly could out of Jay's talent. They also both looked smoking hot and they had great chemistry.
I really hope she's got more good'uns up her sleeve. I've never noticed her choreography much, but I really sat up today and I think she is the business this year. |

The choreography was a bit too much for Jay, though he managed most of the leg- and foot-work pretty well.
It was also a bit too frantic and forced. |

I've loved the vast majority of her choreography.

One of the most underrated female pros. She can go wacky, but also understated.
I really don't know where they can go from here. |

I've always enjoyed Aliona's choreography and think the 'crazy' tag has been exaggerated. I'm a bit surprised (not really) that Len didn't compliment her about the jive though. No messin' abaaat, full of content etc ![]() Quote:

It was also a bit too frantic and forced. The only thing I think he could have improved on would have been a little more 'performance' in his face and perhaps in his arms, but the concept was cool and laid back, so I'm not even sure that mattered.

In fact I didn't really engage in the first section simply because the twist scene in Pulp Fiction is one of my favourite dance scenes ever! However, the second section was so fast and complex that I would imagine that A&J were relieved they didn't have to dance to it for a full 90 seconds.

She's clever, she noticed he can do spins and isolations very well, so she put them both in the jive.

Extremely creative, fanciful, in character with the film with a nonchalance and aloof quality. Cool The switch up was excellent and the actual moves were quite advanced. Near competition level. Aliona did a wonderful job.
