Buy the big baking potatoes at your local market / greengrocers.

How big were they before and how big are they now?

How about Wagon Wheels as well? They used to be the size of actual Wagon Wheels you know?

Aldi's baking potatoes are huge, some of them are just too big.

The pre packed baking potatoes are always smaller than the loose ones. You can generally find whoppers if you rummage through the loose ones.

I agree. I like to eat the skin so now sometimes have to resort to scooping out the filling so I can eat the skin before I get too full.

The ones I've seen recently (in various shops) have been huge.

It's when you put a rugby ball sized one in the oven, that comes back out the size of a golf ball you want to complain

Loose ones tend to be bigger. I think it also depends on the season?

Can't say I've noticed, but they do still stink as bad as they always have.

It does depend on the season, you start to get far bigger ones from Autumn through Winter , but it is better if you pick them yourselves in the supermarket the pre-packed ones don't tend to be that large.

i like pre prepared tesco chilled or iceland frozen (defrosted) both need far less cooking. But nov 5 approaches, nothing tastes like a potato baked at bottom of bonfire. Sometimes with a frightened cat hiding inside it ..........

OOOOO that's got my attention. How do you do that? Just put them in and switch on? I would be afraid of burning out the element to put non liquid food in a slow cooker.

I just roll a tattie in olive oil, season it with rock salt, some pepper, wrap it in foil and whack it in the slow cooker on low til it's done.

That's because it was a rugby ball Moose and it melted down to the size of a golf ball.

Now do I dare try. Scared of wrecking the slow cooker. Mine is quite old, maybe as many as 20 years. I use mine all the time and would hate to be without it.
