2 - Some networks give specific perks to handset contract customers.
Very annoying but with EE if you have a handset contract you can do data sharing; and you can get higher data allowances (20, 50 gb) which don't exist on SIM only.

You can't tether on EE sim only contracts? Or you mean sharing data across multiple lines?

You can't share the allowance with other sims on same account. Or i would get one for my tablet.

Do they still reserve 4G+ for contract customers too? Or have they stopped that now?

I think any EE customer can get 4G+ now. Technically even standard speed customers get working carrier aggregation from what I've seen albeit with speed capped to 30Mb/s. EE seem very picky about the handsets that can use it though.

Hoping this is around for the iPhone 7. We had an agreement in place in the family that included handing down of phones but that's come to an end!

My contract is up in September so hoping to go for a 64gb 7 with an EE sim only.

Dragging this one back now it's been announced.

So is it a good deal? £44 a month seems a lot for a 7+ 128Gb but then I've not see what the likes of Three are going to charge yet. Is o2 refresh likely to be a better option for those looking to not get tied into a long contract? My current one with Three expires in March and I don't want to do it again with offerings changing so quickly.

This offer is just like a car finance package. It's a 20 month deal but you can renew it every year. So eventually it will cost you more but in the short term I guess it's not too bad.

I've signed up to o2 Refresh. £189.99 upfront for the 7 Plus. £65.00/month (before RPI next year) and I can upgrade early in 12 months time.

Okay so I could have paid Apple £49 upfront and then found a SIMO tariff but it would cost £44.75/month for the same phone before finding a decent SIMO tariff. Okay I could have looked at Three with their £23/month plan for 200 minutes, AYCE Data and SMS but they put me off a long time ago with their customer service.

I wanted to do the upgrade program but when I go to reserve a handset the page just hangs. Got a Black 7 128GB on my credit card instead.

Do you know how the upgrade early works exactly? And does it happen every 12 months? Another downside to the non-Apple deal is no Applecare also so in reality you'd have to add another £119 to the annual cost to compare Apples with Apples

...Three can do one IMO, I'm on AYCE from 18 months ago before they increased tethering monthly limits (3Gb) which doesn't go very far for a £50pm tariff.

I tried to get one, but there didn't seem to be any Black 128Gig 7S's anywhere.

It would have been better to select a phone and then have it say where it was available, not the other way round.

I'll wait and see what John Lewis can come up with and maybe buy from there.

For a SIMO deal I like the Voda offerings actually.

£25pm for 25Gb (4Gb roaming), free EU roaming (£5 a day elsewhere), unlimited mins/texts and spotify (or nowtv/sports if you'd rather)
