Helen
What do people think of Helen? I like her, but I thought she looked a little disappointed with her 8s and expected more. I think she may be quite competitive and eager to win. Nothing wrong in that, but I hope it won't stop her enjoying the experience.

i thought her dance last night was lovely, and in my top three. i don't really know her as a personality yet, but she seems hard working and she and aljaz look great together. along with anita, georgia and jay i'd like to see her in for a long while yet.

Can't warm to her and there's something about her personality that bugs me or rings " fake " for a lack of a better word. I don't know what but that's how I feel about her. I also think that she's slightly overrated as a dancer. Not a fan but her dance last night was good. I would rather see Anita or even Kellie in the finals over her.

I like her and she is one of my three favs but I fear she is going to get the Natalie treatment on here which will be a shame but I can almost smell it already.

![]() I liked the way she pushed off the floor (don't know the technical term) and 'drove' her strides - you rarely see that from a celeb. |

im a huge fan of call the midwife and love her character in that - i know helen isnt trixie but helen was my favorite from the beginning because i like trixie
![]() her ballroom is beautiful to watch but the judges are right, her ballet training makes her latin look stiff - im sure alijaz will be working on that in future latin dances and hopefully she can loosen up ![]() it shows that having dance training/background isnt always the advantage that a lot of people seem to think it is

Helen hasn't wowed me yet and I haven't found her as engaging as people like Anita or Katie but she is a good dancer and she looked amazing last night.

Her dance last night was beautiful, but I think she needs a 'moment'. People always expected her to be good and she has only lived up to expectations, so she's overlooked in favour of the surprises like Anita and Katie. |

She is one of my three second favourites with Anita and Katie. Depends on which week and dance they are doing, each one becomes higher up or lower the other two.
Before the show started and after she was paired up with Alijaz, I had her down as my joint favourite with Jay, but I think she is not coming accross as well as I thought she would. |

Bit sad that all these threads about celebs (with only the name of the celeb in them) are almost always a disguised bashing thread.
Ah well, I guess the battle for the final spots (after THAT Jive) is now wide open. OPEN THE FLOODGATES! |

She comes across as a bit 'brittle'. She seems to be trying very hard to say the right things and wants to be liked, but its not coming over as very natural at the moment. I can't remember anything about their dance last night at all.

A lot of professional Latin dancers take ballet classes, as it helps with things like poise and balance, so I'm not sure why Helen should necessarily find her ballet training a disadvantage.
Watching her last night, her left arm was raised above Aljaz's arm instead of lightly resting on it, which is often a sign of tension. She is clearly a good dancer, but maybe trying a little too hard? She just needs to try and relax a little. |

I just don't think she's as good a player of the celebrity game as a few of the others. When Zoe mentioned that she'd found the cha cha cha hard on ITT, Helen leaned in towards her and said quietly "did you really?". It's a natural conversation style that you don't see often on ITT as everyone else performs for the cameras.

I like Helen, she's one of my favourites so far and I hope she manages to loosen up in the Latin. I'm getting a bit of an Ali Bastion (who I also liked) vibe from her to date - lovely ballroom, bit 'careful' in the Latin. |

She is a very good dancer, and will surely go far on ability alone - I suspect her star will start to shine once the pack thins out a little.

![]() ![]() Seriously I like her very much. I think her beautiful foxtrot got a bit lost in all the showiness of last night (taking nothing away from the other great performances). I know what one or two people are saying that she seems a bit aloof and this might be mistaken for arrogance but I think it is possibly something else. She took ballet lessons for years at a time when the name in lights was Darcy Bussell's. Now put yourself in the shoes of that little girl who grew up idolising her role model and now she is stood in front of her, eye to eye and getting critic, positive critique, from her childhood heroine. That must be extraordinary. Think about it - imagine your childhood hero. The person plastered on your bedroom wall, Donny Osmond, Les McEwan, Robbie Williams, David Beckham, the knickerless tennis girl ( one for the blokes ) and now imagine meeting them and them praising you. Wouldn't you be a bit overcome? I would. ![]() When Darcy gave her critique last night I honestly though Helen would cry or faint. She looked quite overwhelmed. |

She recently said in an interview that she found it quite a change to be interviewed as Helen. She is normally interviewed based on a character she plays. There are a lot of actors who differ a lot from their on-screen personas so people might perceive her as something she is not.
I think she seems very nice, gets along well with her dance partner and puts in a lot of effort. I hope she stays in the competition until the final. |

Just caught this on catch up. Thought it very nice indeed. Good foot pressure and good footwork from what the camera showed. Good movement and footwork going into reverse wave. Lovely.

I really like her and her dance last night was my second favourite, and I liked a lot of them. She seems sweet and vulnerable to me, honestly loving it all, still slightly overwhelmed, and I can easily believe that it's weird for actors and actresses not to have a character and to have to 'be themselves'. She's a good match to Alijaz who can both show off how good a dancer she is and seems to look after her more nervous side. Whether all the dances will suit her is too soon to say, but that's true of everyone. Just my take on her, but she doesn't come across as competitive to me, so much as a perfectionist who wants to get it right (especially for Darcy).
