I really like her. I get that the whole "posh" aura might be irritating to some, but I find her quite charming.
* As a fellow posh bird vocally ( though not actually )sorry forced elocution lessons at school, I fail to understand why speaking properly is annoying. Georgia speaks with a strong northern accent I don't see anyone saying this is annoying. *" I feel a bit sorry for her actually after her dancing credits were "exposed" in the media. I'm wondering though whether she'll be able to deliver a possibly even better jive than Jay, after it was listed as a skill on her CV, or whether it was just added to embellish her qualifications. I think you are right with this IIRC when talking after the dance she was talking about being able to get into the character of Marilyn and I think she found it easier to be a character than being Helen when dancing. I would agree she does seem more shy and reserved that doesnt necessarily make her aloof or arrogant, I can relate in that I am very shy around people until I get to know people well and trust them to a degree I am very quiet and reserved and would probably come off the same way as being a bit off its not intentional its just dealing with shyness.
I think she is very fragile at the moment but given her marriage broke up not long before the series started it is perhaps understandable, she will still be dealing with that plus the medua was blaming the curse of strictly which was an achievement given they hadnt even been paired up at that point so must be tough to have all that going on in the background plus learning new routines etc etc and trying to appeal to the public and not come across badly. * I do think she is fragile coming off the back of a recent divorce, who wouldn't and bless her for not making this her story, I hope SCD goes some way to healing her wounds and making her happier. I like her quiet elegance, suspect there is a witty person lurking under the fragility and terror and love her dancing. One of my favourites. She got one of my votes, as did Jay and Jeremy, could I have chosen more diverse favourites, Anthony was one but he didn't get one as I was worrying about his arm. *" I like Helen as Trixie in CTM so knew of her before Strictly and she is one of my favourites this year along with Anita and hope both do well. Filler I have done something wrong with my multi quotes again, sighs Ooh is Jay single? Should we go for the two conquering their performance nerves together and finding true lurve ![]() Isn't this called shipping wow I need to go to bed ! |

Helen obviously had elocution lessons as a child, Georgia - equally obviously - didn't. So what? Speaking the Queen's English, as Helen does, is not 'posh' as some people suggest, it is actually talking properly. Steven Fry, for example, speaks the same way, yet who derides him for it? Speaking with an accent, as Georgia does, is nothing to be ashamed of either. Most people speak with an accent of some description. It is not a reliable indicator of a person's intelligence or quality.

I don't know why people have a problem with well-spoken accents.

OP: I look forward to watching Helen dance (along with Anita, Kellie, Georgia & Jay) but have no clear favourite yet. I don't usually adopt one until Halloween at the earliest, and rarely vote until the semis. |

Chelsee got a tough time on here due to her accent/vernacular. Seems like strange thing to judge someone on to me (most people assume I'm posh, but only because I live in Manchester, and I grew up in St Albans).

As for Chelsee and Alesha (who both got slated), I quite like how they talk...there are relatively few accents I don't like. |

I get a Manchester to Bournemouth cross country train fairly frequently and the accents change completely every three or four stops throughout the entire 4 hour journey! |

England is surely the most diverse country on earth for accents/dialects. |

I love Helen. She's my favourite along with Jay. I'm a huge fan of Call The Midwife. She's a lovely person and a wonderful dancer. She's so pretty too. How could you not like her. She's so elegant the way she moves across the dance floor
