[quote=prehensile;79961310]Yes, agree with this. I'd liken Kirsty more to other deluded "dancers" from previous series, like Kenny Logan and Craig Kelly. Having said that, neither of them reacted quite as badly to criticism as does Princess Kirsty.
Kristy is bad but Craig "i wanna get to Blackpool" Kelly , well, how he lasted as long as he did got me and how every time on the show and on ITT he would indicate the judges were wrong and he was sooo much better then he was he did used to wind me up with his im so entitled to be here cos im good routine |

I think she should go down the Jeremy Vine route and relax and enjoy herself.

By trying to mask Kirsty's weaknesses I'm concerned that Brendan prevents her from overcoming them. He needs to ensure that she masters basic steps. Brendan often appears to be more interested in creating a mood in a dance by dragging his partner around the dance floor than ensuring that her dancing ability develops at a steady pace. Sunetra was also ill-served by him last year.

Remember Brendan and Lulu?
![]() I definitely do not wish to remember Craig "Woodentop" Kelly. He should have gone to Whitepool. |

Seeing her with Brendan on ITT I get the feeling he can't be bothered to put in the work to make her better. Maybe they just don't get on that well.....

Wow, some pretty nasty comments in this thread! 0.o
For me Kirsty *is* improving and the routine this week looked smoother on the whole with only a couple of dodgy moments. As for her looking angry or in disagreement with scores, I can't say I pick up on that. I don't think she has a lot of confidence, to be honest. The scores for her salsa were incongruent with her scores, so I can understand why she'd be confused. She looked at Brendan during getting them, as if she was concerned about having let him down. |

That is entirely credible.

Some of the comments on here are hilarious, making all kind of judgements on a person's character by the way she receives the judges feedback .
Instead of criticising we should be praising these people, who know themselves they have no natural talent for dance, for taking part in SCD . I think it takes great courage and character to put yourself forward for something you know you're not good at and then face the inevitable criticism after a less then successful performance . Well done to Kirsty, Carol, Jeremy, Daniel for taking part . You all contribute to making SCD an entertaining and successful show . |

![]() I definitely do not wish to remember Craig "Woodentop" Kelly. He should have gone to Whitepool. I remember Lulu's suffering well, the poor lamb. Poor Kirsty is yet another lamb being sacrificed by the producers on the alter of what can be best described as has already been pointed out as "a common denominator" |

Well said! (Quote edited to match posters' stated intent.) I have just replayed their piece of the show, looking for the basis for all the nasty comments on this thread, and I just didn't see much at all. For a start most of the judges' coments were fairly positive, except Craig of course, so there wasn't a lot of scope for her to react badly. Of course she was disappointed to have got tangled up with that stupid tail, but that seems pretty natural to me. Up in the Clauditorium, again she seemed to be pretty normal, and Brendan far from being disinterested, was larking around with the tail. She definitely did not react badly to the scores. It's true she's not a natural dancer, but I thought her behaviour was perfectly OK and she handled being given a crap costume well. I guess people see what they want to see, and lots of posters seem to have decided she's a target.... |

It's why I don't post here or look in on the forum half as much as I used to. But you know what? All these comments serve to do is to shine a not very flattering light on those indulging in them. |

When someone asks a question of the couple, it's always Brenda who talks trying to justify himself or talk up his partner.
Lay off and let Kirsty speak please! |

A voice of reason amidst the viciousness. But this happens every year. I don't get why there is such glee in insulting and making false assumptions about someone on a frackin' entertainment show.

I just feel a bit sorry for Kirsty, she seemed utterly terrified to start with and I think it has shown in her dancing. If she can get used to it and learn to relax and get into the dance I think she could be a much better dancer.

I think she is one of the most gorgeous women on strictly, amazing. And I think she is likeable over all except with the judges. I don't think she is deluded but a bit hardened (in a good way as way of dealing with criticism). But she is partnered up with Brendan which does not make her more endearing.

Thats a matter of opinion! I think Kirsty is as tough as they come, and is more than capable of standing up for herself! The trouble is that she works every afternoon at Sky Sports and is not a great dancer to begin with. I just wish that celebrities planning to take part in Strictly realised just how much time and effort it is going to take up before signing up. Some of them have no 'day' job and can put in 100% effort others just can't and it reflects on the dance floor in my opinion.

I honestly don't think there is anything wrong with being disappointed in yourscores, even if you're a bit rubbish. I don't think it makes them deluded, if they felt they danced better or it was their best dance yet, why shouldn't they feel a bit disappointed.
Also her disappointment may have been in herself rather than scores as I imagine she's a tough critic on herself. |

I had a look back at her Salsa, and although the judges did give critiques (Bruno was particularly critical)...Craig mentioned she "did rather well", Darcey said the lifts were impressive and she made them look easy, and put on a very, very good show and Len said it was fun, had terrific lifts, and she came out and sizzled.
I think I would be confused too if after those I received relatively low scores, and the same amount as the previous week. |
