She dances/moves like Judy Murray.

I'm not sure I "berate" others as you put it. All I simply try and do is attempt to suggest that certain personal comments made against her aren't true.

As for the rose coloured specs, yep hands up I totally accept that I will have a very different perspective and not be perhaps terribly objective, however that shouldn't mean that I can't be allowed to stick up for a friend. If you were aware of personal comments made about a friend of yours which you knew weren't true, then I'm sure you'd do the same?

You don't have to justify yourself to anyone.

That's what I thought, she wasn't doing anything wrong.

Haha, thank you kindly. 😊 As I've said elsewhere it's not necessarily about that. I totally respect anyone's right to an opinion, especially with regards to her dancing ability, about which my knowledge isn't as much as others contributors obviously. However, when direct comments of a personal nature are made, then I feel an inclination to point out that they're wrong. I've seen people claim she IS "deluded", "very abrasive", a princess", "an Alpha woman", and even "loathsome" at various times. Hopefully contributors will forgive me for defending a person who I know is none of these things, regardless of my objectivity.

People are intimidated by a beautiful, ambitious woman. Fear breeds hatred!

Kirsty is most likely her own worst enemy . Perfectionists often are as they set too high standards and find it hard to excrpt less . Maybe Kirstys percieved annoyance with the judges is in fact annoyance at herself . If she could relax and allow herself not aim to be the best dancer and let it just happen her body might relax into the music
As it is her body is wound up like a coiled spring and it makes for very stiff movement

I have seen everyone of these nasty comments I am sure some people get a kick out of being nasty about someone. I know exactly what their issues are and imo it is pathetic.

I'm not intimidated by her and I think she is a stunner but the woman cant dance, nothing wrong with discussing that its what I came here for anyway (well not just her, all of them). It does not make me a hater.

What gets me is that some of the people that hammer Kirsty dribble over Jay like loved up Teenagers. You could not make it up..

I don't know what it is Nina. She's not the best dancer by any stretch, it doesn't take a genius to see that bless her, and I can totally understand why those who enjoy the wonderful feeling and nuances that music and dance brings to them would prefer to watch other contestants dance. But to describe anyone on the show as "loathsome"..... Really???

Well said CornishDunk, Kirsty needs sticking up for, I am reminded of a place in a video game called ' The sanctum of the burning souls'

How can you without knowing every poster personally? Isn't that exactly what you're objecting to in others? That they don't really know anything about Kirsty and therefore their comments are irrational?

I have been on here long enough to know what the game is believe me or not. I could say more but I wont as I would get a ban and it is not worth it. All I can say that other postesr know what the issues are and have said so.

Haha, thank you Terry. I'm sure there's many very knowledgeable and well meaning contributors here who merely have strong opinions. Hopefully I can do likewise, just no need for comments of a very personal nature.

This all got a bit mean in my opinion. It does seem like some posts were trying to outdo others in terms of nastiness, to the point where posters were congratulating each other on what had been said. I like Kirsty, I like Brendan. Maybe each of them could have done better with different respective partners, we'll never know, but to me it looks like they can handle each other's personalities quite well and genuinely get on. Perhaps some people were expecting tears and tantrums?

Kirsty has admitted she is very competitive and I think she is more disappointed with herself at not being as good a dancer as she wanted to be. She speaks really well of Brendan so part of her disappointment appears to be that she's letting him down too. Not that I know her personally to be able to say that, but certainly she has never seemed angry to me.The comments she got for her Salsa did not concur with her scores so I don't blame either of them if they were a bit puzzled by that. Listening to Brendan and reading his tweets I think he has been trying to build her confidence by talking her abilities up. Because we don't get to see much training footage anymore it could be true that she is a lot better in practice than she is on the night. However Kirsty needed to help herself too and in fairness to her, being in the dance off may have given her the jolt she needed. She did really well in it and has said she liked it (strange to hear anyone say that but as she is competitive perhaps that situation is one that brings out the best in her). I hope she continues to improve and wish both Kirsty and Brendan the best of luck.

One other thing, in relation to Kirsty's nerves, I felt so sorry for her particularly during the first dance. It's good to see her getting a handle on them now.

No need to get defensive, I didn't say you weren't allowed to post your opinion.

Thank you, and likewise. Some of the posts in this thread were unfair, and sometimes just for the sake of it.

I wasn't being defensive, people accused others of being haters and sure some of the comments are proper nasty. Ive just discussed her dancing, maybe the poster should have said some not all then?

I haven't accused you of being a hater.

If you didn't like the poster's wording, then why reply to me?
