OMG we just had this for lunch and it was wonderful! Lidl Deluxe Outdoor Bred British Pork loin joint with sea salt and black pepper.

I have been cooking Sunday lunches for nearly 40 years and this is far and away the best pork I've ever had. It cooked beautifully and the crackling was excellent.

Only 3 of us for lunch and it weighed 1kg and cost about £6 Fantastic value too.

Oh I missed that. Mine was in a classy looking black box ... Is that the one?

I emailed Lidl to tell them how pleased I was with it and I received a lovely letter in the post today and a gift voucher!! That's what I call great customer service.

None. I am just a very satisfied Lidl customer. Let me know what you think if you get one.

I paid about £6 for mine. Didn't keep receipt. Would that have been the reduced price or did you pay about £3 surely not. Lucky devil!!

It's one of my favourites, and I bought a few for £3 in their half-price weekend offers this year.

I've sliced it wafer thin and put it in sandwiches, and keep being asked if it's chicken. They're surprised when I say it's pork, and when I say Lidl they're even more surprised, especially when I explain that, no, it's not mechanically recovered pre-sliced ham.

Even for £6 it's worth it for dinners and sandwiches.

Doesn't bode well for the product if it tastes like chicken.

Only their normal beef joints in the shrink wrapping, and I have to say I much prefer Aldi's. I'm not sure about beef joints in black boxes, I shall have to look out for them.

Oh, and the pork joints shrink a lot when you cook them. By the time you remove the fat, there's a little tube of pork left! But it does taste nice and is soft

I agree, it's lovely. Shame we missed the half price deal. The Aldi outdoor bred pork is delicious as well but it doesn't have the salt and pepper on it.

Remove The fat? It's crackling! Mine didn't shrink at all and was delicious. Might be an idea to check your timings or oven temp.
