Peter is not an awful Doctor. He's not an awful actor.

He's a good actor.

It's the rubbish scripts he gets. He is doing his best but Doctor Who has been tripe ever since it returned in 2005.

If only we were so 'clear thinking' as he. We should all bow down to his superior knowledge and marvel at the childish insults.

I think this is it Peter has the potential to be a good doctor like at first i despised eccleston but he was so funny and his humor and him and rose on saturday nights were the best especially when captain jack joined the tardis crew it was so sad when he sacrificed his regeneration for Rose Tyler. I think its the scripts Peter has his doctor down in hand but the script dosent work with his strengths i see the same potential in peter that eccleston has but the bloody scripts and complicated storylines are dragging him down plus the fact that the limelight is constantly taken off him and moffat seems to constantly make changes change is awesome but when you're doing it 24/7 urgh

Do you think for the sake of those reading your posts that you could try using a little bit of punctuation? Thanks

In the words of Alan Partridge, "I'm sorry, that was just a noise."

Just about decipher this, but isn't the point of posting posts meant to be read? If you can't be bothered to make your posts legible then why are you posting?
It was a polite request, why be so snotty about it? Man up and take the advice so all can give you earned respect.

I was being polite too?

Then my CBA internet abbreviation must be different to yours. For your benefit, we'll brush off the 'then don't'.
So unless this is a (looking at your age) new Millennial form of 'polite' that I was unaware of, what does your 'Cba' (sic) mean?

It's an expected part of forum ettiquette that you at least attempt to make your posts readable for others. No one's trying to be a grammar or spelling Nazi. Everyone makes errors and my grammar is shocking sometimes but at least an effort to use a few full stops? Then to say you 'can't be arsed' and don't care if people read them? Then why bother posting? It's a discussion forum not just a soapbox.

agree.
Tonight is another one I stopped recording after 10 minutes
it screams not good enough for a 2nd viewing.

The stories simply aren't good enough IMHO

Capaldi is unquestionably a great actor, but for me he just doesn't have the energy for the part. Dare I say it? He's too old. The show has moved on from the classic era, the New-Who Doctor needs to be an action hero. This is why, in my opinion, Matt Smith was perfect. He managed to be both an eccentric alien and an action hero at the same time.

I Actually kinda agree with this people with the classic series grew up with older doctors while in the newer series people grew up with young actiony ones who mainly based themselves in modern urban London like tennant early smith and eccleston which the viewer back then in 2005 can relate too and laugh along to it but the demographic is now being forced to go along with the show going back to its older roots

'Early Smith'? Apart from 'the Lodger' modern urban London set stories were conspicuous by their abscence in his first season and a half at least. They made a deliberate move away from that.

Matt Smith is my favourite from new who, i see exactly what you mean about him.

However i like Capaldi, i do not see an issue personally with their being an older Doctor, though i do feel he has been let down abit by some dodgy script

You do realise that Lou Reed died a couple of years ago right?.. at the age of 71.

I actually wonder if they have lost the ability to tell a story not based on an alien world or set in the past/future. Just a Dr Who story set right now, tonight's Villain was like some OTT drag Queen who forgot to Shave. why not get Brian Blessed to play the role he would have been hilarious if they were going for Camp value.

another story that didn't need telling because unless there's some massive twist next week. You can see the character confusion with PC's doctor more than every tonight
The episodes just feel like fillers till clara leaves now

Tonight's episode was appalling.

A good Doctor might have been able to salvage this awful car crash but Capaldi just seems like a rabbit in the headlights.

Moffat and Capaldi are driving this show into a wall.

Just read the DS review. There must be some odd substances being consumed at DS towers! The show is so bad and unpopular now that it feels like people think they're being super cool and rad to like it.

The age of the actor has no bearing on whether he is any good as a Doctor in my opinion. What counts is the quality of the writing.

Despite the title of my thread I do agree with you to a certain extent.

However RTD & SM have written and run some crappy episodes but we forgave them due to fantastic performances from Eccleston, Tennant & Smith. Those guys WERE the Doctor.

Capaldi just hasn't clicked and been overshadowed by Jenna Coleman and a host of stunt castings.

Capaldi is a great actor but he's so miscast in this series and the poor scripts are just highlighting what an awful Doctor we have right now.

I've never liked capaldi as an actor. I usually avoid all he is in, I watch because this who is better than no who but I do long for the next regeneration, in the past I have been a big defender of Moffat but now I would like a new lead writer. Toby Whitehouse and damien molone please
