For a guy with one arm out of action he did very well indeed. But my point was that for a one armed boxer that was probably the best 6 weeks of employment he could have hoped for.
It's just that it sounded as if you felt he wasn't really making much effort, that's all. I thought he was trying very hard and he and Oti did the very best they could within the constraints of his injury.

His arm looks like it's been out of action months rather than weeks. Look at the difference in the size of them.

I think he tried too, as hard as he was able given his injury. But to moan about having had a very nice and well paying job through a period when he is not able to earn from his normal occupation seems churlish. Many disabled people would have been very grateful for a 10K plus 6 week job I am sure.

Unfortunately for him, whilst Jeremy and Carole don't seem to be getting much better, neither was he. To win the votes he needed to be half decent to stand a chance I think. Carole has a decent fanbase from the Breakfast show, Jeremy has got the comedy vote, there was no voting base out there for him really.

You can see Anthony being interviewed here, the first ten minutes he talks about the injury and then strictly;

This was just before the first week's dance.

Well, surely it says something that he wanted to carry on and do better. I do sympathise with his frustration to a degree.

Frankly, I'd be perfectly content if there was no elimination at all and everyone stayed in and performed every week.

He lacks charm, that's a big stumbling block on SCD when you couple,it with not being able to dance.
I thought he was a lovely lad and quite charming
His dancing was awful and not helped by a dangling right arm !

Anthony talks about his exit from Strictly including doubts about this week's song choice.

"I'm quite young, I'm not a BBC face, I'm not Jeremy Vine, a BBC voice. I've got probably the smallest fanbase and boxing isn't mainstream.

"And even Oti, she's new on the show, she's not English, she's got the smallest fanbase out of all the dancers, I've got the smallest fanbase out of all the celebs. I think we were up against it from the get go.

"The judges weren't giving us much love – it was going to be hard for us. I am disappointed we didn't get more support from the powers that be."

Anthony Ogogo wasn't very happy about having to dance to Rocky on Strictly
Not sure how it's relevant to the fact that his injured shoulder meant he couldn't actually dance properly.

In DWTS there was a man with only one arm and one leg who made it into the final. He did have a lot of help from backing dancers to help with balance etc.

But I think if the public had wanted to keep Anthony in
(or actually knew who he was), he could still have got to the final with one arm, maybe by December he would be able to use his other arm.

Amy Purdy had both legs amputated at the knee and was a runner up in DWTS - partnered by Derek Hough ( )

He has tweeted several semi bitter messages tonight and also retweeted lots of tweets he's received from people saying the judges were harsh, he wasn't given a chance etc. Bit disappointed in him to be honest but will wait to see how he is on ITT tomorrow.

If that is true then he is coming across as an incredibly sore lose who obviously thought that he was a lot better than he actually was. GBP KOs STRICTLY BOXER might be a more accurate headline.

The lengths some people will go to for a dance competition.

I know - partnering Derek Hough is just disgusting!

It was daft to have included him in the current state, I'd have liked him to do a special or something when he was healed as he was light on his feet and I think may have been a good dancer (his week one jive was good) I think (and hope) his comments have been taken out of context by the star as from the little bit I can make out its more about having previous dance experience and I get why that would be seen as unfair (Helen and Jay, as good as they are, should be that good with their pasts)

He wasn't voted out because of the Rocky Routine - which was entirely appropriate for movie week, he was voted out because he danced like the hunchback of Notre - Dame.

I am an athlete, oops a daisy, I have just broken a leg, what should I do during my recovery - I know I will appear in SCD. I am sure I can manage with one leg ... the public will vote for me because I am better than everybody else on one leg than they are on two legs.

What was a bit strange though was that none of the judges mentioned it was blooming lack of movement of his right shoulder and right arm, and him carrying his right arm with his left hand that distorted his balance, his movement, his dance.

Have only seen the headline, not the interview, but if he said that, he has really let himself down.

His dancing was awful. He was dancing as if he was half injured or something.

Ps: Is he really so arrogant - or has he been quoted out of context?

Managed to get the link to post think he is going to struggle to argue that he is being taken out of context. Just coming across as very bitter, spoiled and entitled and with a higher opinion of his dancing skills.
